I was told that in Germany, the online age verification process for adult websites is complete and requires software or a service provider. Can anyone tell me more about this?

i could - but that would take hours...

basic line: you need to prove that you are above the age of 18 and a credit card is not enough. there are several approved systems and nowadays it's not as bad anymore like it was 2 or 3 years ago. so no need anymore to zip your pants back up and walk to the post office to sign a verification paper... ;)

as far as i know most methods nowadays work by charging 1 cent from your bank account and verifying your bank account information with an institution called "Schufa" (they provide information about how credit-worthy people are).

there are billing companies who offer this already included in the payment process
