Dating ppl over 10 yrs age difference

why is it so socially acceptable if a 25 yr old man dates a young girl, just barely legal, but if a woman that is ...lets say 36 dates a 25 yr old guy, what the hell is the big deal if both people laugh together, make each other happy and the sex life is healthy (as in good).[
Lets assume both ppl are hot. He is finishing up medical school and she's in nursing school.. or was, so they have stuff in common.

Actually this thread is NOT about me (I'm older so it aint me), but my friend which is catching shit left right and center about it, so I figured, you guys don't bite your tongue, I wanna hear what you got to say. They have been together about a year. If you read my thread about cancer, same friend.

I'm just more curious about the general publics perception of the Ashton/Demi type relationaships vs. the Donald Trump with the young arm candy scenario.

Curious minds want to know. (Tiff actually asked me to post this, she doesn't work in this industry and is blown away by GFY (how busy it is)

mikesinner 08-30-2009 08:33 PM

thousands of years of male oppression. that's the difference.

Spunky 08-30-2009 08:35 PM

When I was in my 20's I liked the older women, now that I'm in my 40's I like the younger women

Jdoughs 08-30-2009 08:35 PM

My wife is 13 years older then me, and has been for the last 10 or so years we've been together (go figure :).)

Nobody 'talks' but she sure wishes they did. I would guess the reason 'Tiff' wanted you to post is she probably makes the biggest deal about the age difference. And she's the one who likes the attention. (my wife isnt the only older woman I've dated/had relationships with, they all love the attention and thought of a young man more then anyone else involved (naturally).

For the record, a 25 yr old man is a YOUNG MAN too.

Marcus Aurelius 08-30-2009 08:42 PM

I'm 16 years older than my girlfriend. You can't choose who you fall in love with, and as long as they are both consenting adults whats the big deal? love is love, tell your friend to enjoy what she has found and don't let fucktards ruin it for her.

I'm 27 and the last girl i dated was 40, people did look at us strange but we both liked the attention. It was fun. Nothing wrong with it. Its kinda like seeing two guys holding hands, not something you see everyday so people will hate just because its not what they're use to. Who really cares what people think.

angeleyes 08-30-2009 09:14 PM

yeah, she used to like the attention and I'm infamous for going after younger guys too in the past so I get it, but she looks younger than him so they don't get the stares, it's her other friends that are riding her ass but I'm thinking they are just jealous because he's HOT... if she were not my friend, I'd tap that ass. lol (joking) She's the typical hot blonde and he's the typical dark hair/tall guy (perfect stereotype couple).

Sort of.

SilentKnight 08-30-2009 09:15 PM

My wife's 7 yrs. younger than I.

It's just a number. It's never been a factor to our 14 yr. relationship.

age aside, just having a relationship last that long is amazing in this day and age, so congrats!:thumbsup

d-null 08-30-2009 09:48 PM

what two people do in their relationship shouldn't be anyone else's business

but generally, maturity and all that it tends to be a way better fit for the more usual older guy younger girl relationships ...... but if a couple is happy then nobody else should judge :2 cents:

L-Pink 08-30-2009 09:58 PM

I just broke up with a girl 22 years younger than me. She wanted kids.

Get out of my head. My thoughts exactly. As I said, I've had very serious relationships with ppl 10 yrs my junior and those were the best as far as considering him to be my best friend, lover and we had so much fun together. I'm childish, I guess thats why it worked for me back then. lol

Tiff and I were best and only friends in school so she is me and I'm her (we are so alike it's scary).

When I was 22 I had about a 5-6 month long fling with a woman that was 42. She had three kids and was sexy. We carpooled to work and would stop at her house every day after work and screw. It was a kick ass 6 months.

That said, I think there is a stigma to it. I think when people see an older guy with a younger girl they think he is a guy who has something going on - be it money, power, looks whatever, which is why he was able to land a younger hottie. When they see a younger guy with an older woman they often think he is either desperate or he is looking for a sugar momma.

This is just from my own experiences. I have been with friends and heard their comments when we see couples out in public that have a noticeable age difference.

you need to grow up you come across as a complete fucking psycho and i literally mean that. you are the type of chick to bite a cock off.

what are you fucking 12? who cares what people think about age difference or anything for that matter.

are you on a whole heap of prescription meds? or what is your excuse for being such a loose cannon/insane?

i wouldnt want any woman that steps within 5feet of you let alone a woman who somehow has enough in common with you that she is your "friend". why would i want someone on my arm who keeps the company of a complete psychopath such as yourself?

Sarah_Jayne 08-31-2009 07:04 AM

I was married to a man 18 years older than me and we got married when I was 19. If it is legal and you love each other than why care what is 'acceptable' to others?

fatfoo 08-31-2009 07:47 AM

22 man dates 30+ women. That's ok in Canada. Although, I heard comments such as "She's old enough to be his mother!", when I was walking around with an older woman once. Some people don't like it I guess.

And some people yell that, "She's old enough to be his mother! No!" I heard those voices in Canada, Toronto.

pornocruto 08-31-2009 08:18 AM

Who gives a fuck what people think, long as both parties are legal and consenting.

nico-t 08-31-2009 08:26 AM

people love to talk and gossip about other people and judge them. I dont understand that since i dont have any interest in who other people date. if the dude likes older ladies and the lady likes younger guys who gives a fuck?

TisMe 08-31-2009 08:28 AM

The age difference will matter more as you get older, but if it makes both happy then what the hell.

CaptainHowdy 08-31-2009 08:37 AM

Who the fuck cares...

Tom_PM 08-31-2009 09:08 AM

This is one of those funny things where the only time I've ever heard about it, is when someone is saying that everyone has a problem with it.

I think it's one of those things where you only notice it if you are extra sensitive to it.

Psichology says that if you're with an older woman, you're looking for a mother instead of a partner.
Real men always look for younger girls. It's all about sexual attraction. And the girls are looking for love + money (:

Very simple, in the former scenario, both individuals are fertile. In the latter, one is fertile and one is questionable.

love and death never knock at the door

I have a relationship, for some time, with a lady 10 years older than me and we feel gorgeous.

I had relationships with young womens, but they are not enough truly beautiful as a lady and mind of younger chicks are in the corners..beauty is fleeting, and you know that ..

I'll probably marry a girl 15-20 years younger or so

Pornwolf 05-23-2010 09:11 PM

Here's the real answer, in general the man is supposed to lead the woman.

He's supposed to be able to guide her mentally, physically, emotionally and financially.

It is not supposed to be the other way around. So, when a woman is seen with a much younger man they know very little of the above is being provided. Which makes them look and, in most cases rightfully, say WTF!?

A buddy of mine is going through this exact thing right now, he is 38 she is 19, and all of us friends of him are seeing him change and looking like an idiot.

It would be different if he was cool and didn't care if she came or went, but he is getting all insecure about it and changing himself, the way he dresses and trying to impress her every day.

She actually seems to have the upper hand which is so ridiculous, all she has going for her is looks and youth, he has fallen for that in such a big way that he is doomed for a big fall and all his friends see that but he doesn't.

nudecanada 05-23-2010 10:07 PM

"what the hell is the big deal if both people laugh together, make each other happy"

Therein lies your answer. Nothing wrong with that at all. We have friends in similar situations and ask "Are you happy" and if they are, that is all that matters. Case closed.

brentbacardi 05-23-2010 10:09 PM

Who cares? If it makes them happy but......

Its about the kids thing. When I was younger (18-22) I would always go after girls about 24 or 25... but then kids came up and they were like "Id like to have kids when im 25 or 26" so that scared me lol and I was gone. Now I am 23 and I date girls 18-21 so if I find the right one I get a few years before the kids come along.

So I think the reason why men usually go with younger women is because it makes sense when it comes to having kids... guys usually prefer to wait till late twenties early thirties ive noticed while women usually are looking for that at around 25... so a few years or more could be beneficial to the whole when to have kids thing....

BSleazy 05-23-2010 10:14 PM

I've had relationships with older women too but when you get down too it, it just isn't gonna work in most situations.

Like I'm 29 and still would like to have a family some day. Am I gonna marry a 40 year old women and expect to have three kids with her and what not? No, not gonna happen. Most of these women have already had kids and been married and now are just whatever...

The older man situation can work out better for obvious reasons.

I suppose you're talking about sex. Age doesn't matter when it comes to sex, the man can still dominate even if he is younger. And if you mean physically protect her, he can still do that even if he is younger.

Couples are suppose to SUPPORT EACH OTHER emotionally. If there is any guiding involved, it usually requires a shrink.

Just because someone is older than you does not mean he or she makes more money.
