When I was in mainstream we used MS Project. It was a bit of a pain to learn, but man that's some good software. Completely integrated with the Office Suite and about a billion ways to look at all your data. Again, in the beginning it was a hassle, but once you get the swing of it, it's smooth sailing and the tutorials were awesome.
