I am afraid of these flicks

VeriSexy 09-01-2009 02:21 AM

Haven't gotten around to it ;(

sicone 09-01-2009 02:23 AM

Have not seen it yet, but did see his remake of the first and it was awesome... expecting the same with this one

CaptainHowdy 09-01-2009 07:29 AM

Can't wait... the original Halloween 2 is one of the best sequels EVER.

Porn Grounds 09-01-2009 08:00 AM

I really can't wait to see this!

SykkBoy 09-01-2009 08:39 AM

I was sooooooo let down by this flick
I liked the remake, but this one was just really all over the place...it felt rushed and I would suspect had a lot of studio interference...

I want to see the director's cut DVD because I'm sure it will be better than the nonsense I saw on the movie screen...

Rob Zombie sure does love him some white trash...and everyone in this flick talked like a sailor...

Killswitch - BANNED FOR LIFE 09-01-2009 08:41 AM

I was let down also... Loved the first, besides the gore, this one kind of sucked.

Domain Broker 09-01-2009 08:43 AM

The movie completely sucked compared to the first one.

I think I would have enjoyed it more had it not been called "Halloween 2"
if it was just Rob Zombie's Slasher flick, I think the enjoyment factor would have been higher.

Visually the movie looked great. The sound effects and sound editing were good as well. It was a well made movie technically, but I just couldn't get past the grunting Michael Meyers and assorted redneck/white trash knife fodder...and about the only character in the flick that didn't drop the f-bomb was the kid clown...and I'm surprised he didn't say "Are you a fucking giant, you cocksucking dick licker?"

Elli 09-01-2009 11:02 AM

Now we're remaking SEQUELS? Jebus...

piskas 09-01-2009 11:04 AM

didn't really like it :(

You know, I thought the same thing "Why the fuck is Michael grunting?" He's always quiet even when he's being blown away... But he grunts when he thrusts a knife into some guys face?

MrPinks 09-01-2009 11:34 AM

I'm a die hard Halloween fan and I'm on the fence about the movie. It could have been a lot better but it also could have been a lot worse. I did like the visuals with the pumpkin people.

Bad news is...next year we are going to see Halloween 3D. Ughhh. WHY?

Looks like Rob Zombie thinks it's a bad idea too as he is not going to return to direct.

Yup, although I dug the sheer brutality of his attacks, the grunting killed it for me...

and I did something I can't recall ever having done before...I talked in a theater during a movie...

SLIGHT SPOILERS
When Michael totally hulked that car, in slow motion even...I heard the words come out of my mouth "What the fuck? Now he's the incredible hulk?". The words came out before I could stop myself...

I think the grunting was all part of Zombie's plan to humanize the monster.

In the previous films he was this inhuman embodiment of evil.

Zombie wanted to make him into the human embodiment of evil - we see him eat and have some kind of internal life, he carried a bedroll so we assume he sleeps - I liked that aspect of it, but I agree it was incomplete and rushed.

it sucked.

It's not great. But, it definitely has it moments. If Steve Miner directs the 3rd one. I am definitely, going to see it. He did Friday the 13th Part 3 in 3-D and it was awesome.

Ugh. 3D is just a great way to kill any horror movie.

did anyone here see "Night of a thousand Corpses"?

This is Rob Zombie's first movie, and its spectacular. It's very violent, but is very well written, very very well directed, and is very, VERY fun to watch. It's one of my all-time favorite movies.

The sequel, "The Devils Rejects", sucked. All the fun was gone. The movie was "Cruel". The ending was so bad it was if he didn't know how to end it at all.

Halloween 1 by Rob Zombie was great for the first 20 minutes or so. After that, CRAP. The movie was no fun, and I didn't give a damn about any of the characters.

(By the way, I define FUN in a horror movie as being Horrified! Stupid Jump-cuts ("BOO!"), fake scares etc, are not fun. They're cheap thrills at best.)

I haven't seen Halloween II yet. Apperently, one very cool part of the film is with sound design. Since Rob Zombie being a rock star and big fan of horror and sci-fi movies, I tend to believe that there's something very special to Listen to in this movie, but thats the only good thing I've heard about the movie so far.

How funny - I found Devil's Rejects to be far better than House of a Thousand Corpses.
