Since they are producing remakes for so many shitty shows from the 80's, why not make one for a good show? Here is one I would definitely go see. :thumbsup

That was actually a great show. The effects obviously weren't amazing, and the acting was kind of cheesy, but it was a pretty cool story with a few good twists.

already in the works

I always thought the original "V" was an extended allegory of the at-the-time contemporary right-wing takeover of the U.S. by Reagan and his cronies.

It'll be interesting to see what it looks like this time. I've said for the last few years that if they remade "It's a Wonderful Life" now, Old Man Potter would be the hero.

The original series was not that great . Its only saving grace was Jane Badler . I see the new Pilot has the chick from the Firefly series she is ultra cute, so maybe worth watching ?

So now they do the rat swallowing scene with CGI....

The series came later. It originally started with a mini series run. I can't watch that show because well... I was round 5th or 6th grade then. I think 6th, and we had a 1 year old cocker spaniel named Roscoe. Well my sister and I were watching V and had let the dog out for awhile. We lived in a fairly rural area with a huge yard so it was the norm for us to let the dog out without a leash. We forgot he was outside and sure enough later that night he got hit and killed. It was before she show was over that we forgot. So always makes for a bad memory for me to think about that show. :Oh crap

The series sucked ass. There was actually 2 mini-series and they were better. especially the first one.

Profits of Doom 09-01-2009 10:14 PM

There was the original miniseries first, and then the final battle. Both of those were brilliant and I really thought the series would be incredible.

Unfortunately their budget was next to nothing, and they constantly had to repackage and re-air previous fight scenes to save money, which is almost always a death blow for a sci-fi show. The series lasted one season, had that terrible cliffhanger where the boyfriend stowed away on the ship when they took his hybrid lizard girl, and that was all she wrote.

A few years ago I might have been against this idea, but I am encouraged by the wondrous things they did with the new Battlestar Galactica. Maybe we can catch lightning in a bottle twice...

I still remember staying up late to watch that show. A remake would be awesome !
