Here's a little Business Tip... Instead of saying Adapt Or Die you should be saying..
A lot of you harp on the Adapt or Die statement regarding tubes. It's the wrong statement. The correct statement regarding your business (whether it applies to tubes or whatever) is INNOVATE OR DIE!
The leaders in our industry and others apply that saying continually. Think of TGPs. Would they be hurting as bad as they are if they applied that? Absolutely not. You can complain about what's wrong with the industry. But at the end of the day be sure to look at your business and remember to INNOVATE OR DIE!!! |
ya, adapting is simply doing what everyone else is doing and that will not increase your bottom line. Shap is correct.. INNOVATE OR DIE! Problem is, to many people will just follow that few that innovate and not really accomplish anything.

I can't take credit for coming up with it. I read it in this month's Success magazine. Here is part of the article.
I could not have said the following better. Reading it gets me fired up :winkwink: --------- I define innovation as the never-ending pursuit of something better. This is the defining spirit of the entrepreneur?the desire to improve, refine and streamline the old ways of doing things to improve the quality of our work and our lives. In business, as well as life, it is innovate or die. If you aren?t improving, you are falling behind. You cannot stand still. In today?s fast-paced, ever-evolving global marketplace, if you aren?t innovating and moving forward, you are effectively moving backward and the world is speeding by you. Innovation isn?t some big-bang happening. It is something you do every day by constantly challenging your status quo: your ideas, systems, processes, policies, behaviors and assumptions. What has become an adage is now true more than ever: ?If it ain?t broke, break it.? To avoid extinction, change is not only inevitable, it is a necessity. ----- You can read the rest here http://darrenhardy.success.com/2009/...ge-creativity/ |
Adult stopped innovating 4+ years ago.
Every new site or promotion model has been taken from mainstream. |
I agree... why adapt... you just admit that you have lost and can't do anything about it.
Before tube sites people bitched about tgp's. There is always going to be something new that will come out. I could write a novel about why the industry is the way it is today but at the end it's not going to change anything. Evolve and innovate to get back what is lost from the free porn. |

Anyone that says business is dead because of this and that is ONLY a finger pointer... |
Most successful businesses just did things a little bit better than the last guy. So hopefully that gives people some hope, you don't always have to reinvent the wheel, just make the wheel a little better.
Google didn't invent search engines or PPC advertising, they just made it a little better. Apple didn't invent the MP3 player or the smartphone, they just made it a little bit better. Facebook didn't invent social networking, they just made it a little better. The list goes on and on. |

One old saying is definitely applying to my situation:
Whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger. This fucking piracy shit has damn near destroyed paysite sales. But it has also caused me to bust my ass and optimize everything I have to it's utmost money making potential. One thing is for sure...when the solution to piracy finally comes down from the courts and an end is put to it...My shit is going to absolutely blow up. Grampland.Com is the absolute best free site I've ever been involved with. And I'm lucky to get much traffic to it at all. Why would anyone bother coming to me when they can get entire members areas for free? But once that stops? I have my shit down solid. I'm still making good money off of next to nothing traffic numbers. Let me get back up to a million uniques a day and I'd be the damn Scrooge McDuck of porn. lol |

adapt or die is only valid statement for these webmasters. |
innovation? where? Havent seen much at all in the past years... lol
|
"adapt or die"... "innovate or die"... both are just rhetoric and boil down to essentially the same thing. Don't just keep doing the same old thing if it's no longer working.

Yeah I agree, its more like innovate and diversify or die.

Great threads lately Shap :thumbsup
I got a new one for you Protect your content or die :winkwink: |
I'm gonna start a free dating site. Then I'm gonna advertise paysites on it. awesome, right?
|
Adapt or die = followers
Innovate or die = leaders Where do you want to be :) WG |
adapt or die.
|
innovation makes sense.. no need copying everyone else...
We've seen hidden cross sales, cross sales below join form, etc.. Im almost done with my new paysite, will payout $100 per join.. We will have disappearing cross sale.. yes.. Basically, it will appear for 1 second then vanish.. magic.. Also thinking of cross sale in a different language.. so if the user is american, the cross sale will be in chinese or romanian.. We could also have pre checked cross sales that bill you when you UNCHECK.. These are all innovations and ill make a lotta $$. . yea? Also been thinking of cross sales that rebill after 60 seconds. sounds good to |
Heres one of our cross sales?Innovation =)
X By Unchecking/Checking this box, you agree to signup for a free 60 second trial to XXXwild, which recurs at $39.97/month. Best of all its a disappearing cross sale.. comes and goes.. =0 |

Flood the market with copies or die!!
|
Very smart statement. However until content theft gets regulated I think its best, for myself anyhow, to find a business were people can't get what you are selling for free at the click of a mouse.
|
sausage had the best point thus far: innovation in adult now means who can execute mainstream ideas in adult first.
|
First to market is very important yes but you gotta also do it right.

maybe we could take the tube scenario and apply it to the real world gotta be huge cash in it?
For Example: Buy a shoe shop, go round all your competitors and steal all their stock and then put it in your store and give it away FREE, you make your money from selling shoe shine at the counter, gotta sell 1 tin every 1000 pairs you give away at least. Fortunes just waiting to be made! |

How about CHEAT, STEAL, LIE OR DIE!? Seems to be working for many in this industry.
|
mainstream is worse. at least you get some kind of product in adult. mainstream is a cesspool of ponzi schemes and outright fraud atm.
