Curious - how many of you are in this JUST for the money, and don't like porn or the industry?


There are a LOT of good people in this game but I'm so sick and tired of those that keep in it yet you KNOW don't like porn or the people in it..... you can spot them a mile away from how they suck up and only to who they perceive as the big players

Honestly I think they are the reason for MOST of the scams that have occured....

I got into it because I love it! That was back in 01. I still love it.

I started full time in 00 and LOVE this biz....

I tried something else, it had links to this too but got lead away, but i'm happy as hell to focus and spend time in what I LOVE!!!!

I got in it because of Bang Bus. I loved Bang Bus. One day i was told it was all fake. I haven't been able to recover. I hate you all for ruining my life.

I have never been a fan of watching porn in my personal time but I do love working in this industry for a company that works hard to put out a quality product.

When I first started in adult, sure it was about the money... but it was also about providing people with what they want and doing something that is fun to do. I love creating new sites, getting traffic, getting customers, etc... and still do today.

I don't care if it's porn, running shoes or tv dinners... if there is a demand, it will be filled.

We are lucky to work in an industry that is filled with such smart and talented people. I hear a lot of people say we steal ideas from mainstream but I think mainstream looks at us a lot because EVERYONE is searching the net for porn.

Love it.

I can look at toes all day. Shoot toe porn the way I like it. Make a mint doing it.

The added perks of my own schedule, afternoon naps, traveling, among other things. I simply could not be paid enough to go back to corporate America.

I really don't like porn, never have. Nothing against it but its as dull as hell for me, especially some of the acting up is just painful to watch. The worst part of my work is having to edit videos or watch them, or deal with any form of content. I do enjoy the traffic, stats, numbers and SEO game though. Am a normal hetro guy who likes women :)

Though I do quite well selling it and have done so for years, just like any product you break it down, learn what makes it sell, and learn how to sell it. Its just a product afterall.

I'm competitive... and I like a challenge... this seems to give me both in as much as I can handle :)

I dont really care for it or a lot of the people in the biz.

But what I do like, is working at home in my pajamas. I like not driving to work. I like not having a boss. I like not having a phone in my bedroom or setting an alarm clock. I like not answering to anyone, or even having to work with anyone. I like making way more money than people that have college degrees and 'great jobs'.

The 'likes' outweigh the 'dislikes'.

I love my job here! BUT I am also burnt out on a lot of it!

For me to like porn, it would require context for the sex and an original concept. Sex in porn is not at all like sex in real life. Real life sex is so, so, so much better and passionate.

When I fuck like it's a porno, it's usually when I'm drunk and don't give two shits about the bitch. Sure, you blow your load and all, but when it comes down to it, 0 fulfillment.


Disclaimer: I love banging hot chicks and do it regularly, but I HAVE to like their personalities and get to know them first. Sex is over 50%+ mental and if just having a hot bodied bitch to fuck was the goal in life, we'd all just have a collection of real dolls or only "date" escorts.

Just business to me

Used to love the porn (at least I loved what's considered porn in *my* small world lol) - now it just bores the crap out of me. Maybe it's overexposure, maybe it's being happily married, maybe it's just getting old.

Never liked the "playa game" - but have made good friends who push porn but are like me - ordinary, nice people who just happen to do this for a living.

Got into it when I needed a lot of free time to help take care of my mother who had cancer - then just liked being able to make my own schedule - now love the fact that I'm at home watching my little girl grow up.

Always liked the challenge of starting new things and making them grow.

And of course, always liked the money :1orglaugh

There are some great people in this industry. The atmosphere is about as chill as it gets.

Funny, I think the same things about those pesky humans and my planet.

I have loved porn since I was a teenager and still enjoy. Yes I have become de-sensitized to it a bit but I still enjoy it, and thats what matters. That and working from home & seeing my kids each day.

When I was doing this part-time years ago I used to get up at 6AM travel into the city and get home at 9PM so this has made me appreciate how good it is. I just wish the income levels would pick up again as its been going downhill lately.

Im in this business for the business but that doesnt mean i dont like the people or the porn. I just wouldnt be doing it for free is all im saying. Even though I love this industry and its opportunities.

Setting my own hours, working from home, not working at all, or basically doing whatever I want to do at that given minute is also super important to me. Almost just as much as the money.

If i was one of the "doing it for beer money" types I would quit and do something else. I would still look at porn every now and then though. ;)

Both, really. I'm less interested in "porn" than I am in the accessibility and acceptance of full-spectrum sex-positivity -- which includes porn. My interest in the product itself waxes and wanes, but my interest in serving the needs of the consumer doesn't - that's why I am a fan of popularisation vs keeping it "dirty" or "in the closet."

The people and freedom are a serious added bonus. I've never had the luxury of being involved in an industry that can be both incredibly focused on product, development, ROI, strategic planning... And completely free-spirited and enjoyable at the same time. I consider myself incredibly fortunate to be able to work in this business.
