Wireless Mouse... worth it?

worth the money or not?

Itchy 09-04-2009 06:19 AM

I love my wireless mouse and could never go back to a corded one!

pornguy 09-04-2009 06:22 AM

Mine died on me after 1 year. and they are not cheap.

Barefootsies 09-04-2009 06:26 AM

I switched to a wireless mouse and keyboard (Microsoft, came as a dual pack) on my three new machines bought this year. I did not like it at first, now I love it. I still use a wired mouse on my main machine however.

I do not care for changing the batteries every couple of months. But I always have plenty on hand in the house so it is not that big a deal. Just a routine annoyance.

:2 cents:

JimmiDean 09-04-2009 06:30 AM

Would never use anything else.

fris 09-04-2009 06:32 AM

would never go back to corded

Wizzo 09-04-2009 06:34 AM

I don't like them just because of the weight, so I think its really personal preference.

BlackCrayon 09-04-2009 06:36 AM

i don't find it necessary for desktops but it seems to be all they sell anymore.

CaptainHowdy 09-04-2009 06:42 AM

I was also thinking on getting one of those...

Blackamooka 09-04-2009 06:46 AM

Wireless shit is okay UNLESS you're a gamer. Then you might as well be throwing money down the toilet.

Only if you're playing FPS games competitively... and now adays they really aren't that bad...

Anyway I highly recommend:

http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/mi...s/130&cl=us,en

The battery lasts so long I forget to charge it, and it's so comfortable any time I pickup someone else's mouse I immediately remember how much I love this thing...

Great buy and if you spend as many hours as I do on the computer, worth its weight in gold.

I've trashed so many wireless mice playing games it's not even funny. Not just FPS either. RTS, RPG, you name it. I'm brutal on mice. Trashed a few keyboards too lol. :thumbsup

Verbal 09-04-2009 06:56 AM

Maybe it's just me, but the ones I've used in the past always seem to have just a *slight* millisecond delay on it that drives me crazy. The cord never bothers me so it's hard to justify the inconvenience of batteries.

Stephen McTowelie 09-04-2009 06:59 AM

Wouldnt use anything else ! I've been using the logitech laser nano mouse its the nuts !
It has a tiny usb dongle that doesnt get in the way and the batteries last for ages I highly recommend it to you as I have done to others

peeperpimp 09-04-2009 07:00 AM

Try Logitech

shuki 09-04-2009 07:02 AM

I have 3 sets of cordless keyboards and mice for all my desktops...would never think of going back to corded. Get ones that have a charging station then you avoid having to change the batteries.

czarina 09-04-2009 07:04 AM

ok... I'm buying myself a wireless mouse... in this new office setup the cord has been bugging me and I keep having to pull on it since my computer is now very low compared to my desk.

tranza 09-04-2009 07:05 AM

I really like mine!

I do a lot of typing during the day and I've gotten used to this old keyboard already. would hate to have to get used to a new one. But the mouse, yes, that has to go!

ContentSHOOTER 09-04-2009 08:28 AM

I had one once till I tossed it out the window:Oh crap

Well if it had a cord you would still have it :1orglaugh

Tom_PM 09-04-2009 08:33 AM

I have an old logitech wireless keyboard and mouse combo. Mouse comes with rechargeable's, kb uses normal double A batteries (and they last years).
Two thumbs up :thumbsup :thumbsup

eZe 09-04-2009 08:35 AM

I had one and didn't like it. I had a nice Microsoft one, it was always giving me trouble. I don't mind the cord, and it ALWAYS works and is nicely responsive. But then again I kinda like what I get used to. I have had the same style mouse for almost 8 years.

To me the cord isnt much more intrusive than having some dongle poking out of the side of my machine or a docking station. I don't know why you would get one for a desk top. I mean, fuck, your not going anywhere anyway.

LMAO. you almost made me spit out my coffee.

baddog 09-04-2009 08:38 AM

I would lose it if I had a wireless. Sad but true.

Agreed, that tiny hint of a delay really screws with me. I have a Revolution MX sitting in the closet collecting dust.

themadwriter 09-04-2009 08:46 AM

not a fan of wireless mouses

seeandsee 09-04-2009 08:50 AM

i am fan of old mouses with out wheels :D

MandyBlake 09-04-2009 08:53 AM

most definitely. just missing a wire but it feels better.

cam_girls 09-04-2009 08:59 AM

get an optical mouse, so smooth and no dirt clogging the ball.
they have a bright LED underneath so I don't think you can get them wireless as it would drain the battery. mine was $10, small and light, nothing to them. doesn't work much on my woodgrain desk so I use a sheet of paper for a mouse pad.

grumpy 09-04-2009 09:01 AM

need corded for gaming

PlugRush Sascha 09-04-2009 09:10 AM

I use a corded mouse and keyboard. They don't make wireless mice with charging stations or something to get around the replacing battery issue?

alexchechs 09-04-2009 09:13 AM

I have an Apple one and love it

JFK 09-04-2009 09:26 AM

been using it on my laptop for a few yrs, :thumbsup

d-null 09-04-2009 12:53 PM

I'm surprised there are still people using corded mice :upsidedow

fatfoo 09-04-2009 12:58 PM

Not worth the money. I had a wireles mouse. I hated having to change batteries for it. More convinient just to have a regular mouse, and not worry about changing batteries for the mouse.

Basic_man 09-04-2009 12:59 PM

After your cat eat one of your wired mouse.. yes :thumbsup

Yes of course, mine has that and it's quite old now. It's optical, wireless, nickel metal hydride, recharging station on the usb hookup. Easy as pie.

Here's the current lineup: http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/ke...mbos/&cl=us,en

btw: I've never bought new batteries for it yet.

BVF 09-04-2009 01:04 PM

I have an older logitech and love it. You will change the batteries on it twice a year maximum. It works on wood and any surface as long as it isn't white.

Deej 09-04-2009 01:08 PM

Get a good expensive one ($65-80) that helps the posture of your hand.

This is what I use and it has helped a lot.

MichaelP 09-04-2009 01:54 PM

Changed mine for a wireless yesterday.. Love it so far :)

gornyhuy 09-04-2009 02:18 PM

Love my mouse/keyboard combo. Go with the ergonomic wireless keyboard too. Sooo nice.

couldn't stand that shit, bought one and used it about 2 hours: high-precision bullshit, it takes you like 2 minutes to point and click, I would greatly recommend it if you want to be able to click on pixel No2, No12 and No345 on your screen, but for everything else use a normal mouse

could be the model that I purchased, but I'm not buying another one of those for at least five years

Smiley 09-04-2009 02:27 PM

logitech all the way...

i used to work for them and once i tried their products i havent found anything better....ive been wireless for about 10yrs...would never go back to a cord...

you dont HAVE to get a keyboard & mouse combo with logitech products...

as for gaming, never ever had a problem with my keyboard or mouse (also buy the logitech mouse that is rechargable...a single charge can last days if you forget to put it back in its craddle)...

I have that one. I have actually worn holes in the rubber on the side of it.

Buy a good one not a cheapie and you will never go back to cords.
