So whats the difference between DDR DDR2 memory?
I had DDR and tried to install DDR2. Big no no? Fuck this harware crap.

один ддр, дурак.
|
I have no idea. Я говорю по русски, тоже.

Я очень плохо говорю по-русски.

They are separate generations of RAM. Different hardware. It's like putting a Chevy engine inside a Honda. Without major modifications, it just won't work. Don't do it. :)

dont even try it man

DDR2 is a 240-pin module, DDR is a 184-pin . DDR2 ram runs at a lower voltage than DDR. It's also faster. Of course, now there's DDR3 ram which also has 240 pins and are the same size (DDR3 and DDR2), but are electrically incompatible and have a different key notch location so you can't accidentally put ddr3 on a motherboard that is for ddr2.
|
and no, you can't install DDR2 ram on a motherboard that has DDR dimms.. Impossible actually due to the # of pins.
|
I guess you're killed your motherboard...
|
One has a 2 on it.
|
From a chip point of view the main difference is the operating voltage. The other differences are to stop people from accidentally burning things up doing it wrong.
