She's been working on it since last night. I think she did a pretty good job. It's for a client's kid's Birthday tomorrow.

WebairGerard 09-05-2009 07:22 PM

amazing job! The kid will love it! :thumbsup

fatfoo 09-05-2009 07:28 PM

That's cute. Well done.

Lace 09-05-2009 07:34 PM

Nice work! More patience and creativity than me :1orglaugh

CYF 09-05-2009 07:36 PM

I'd eat it :thumbsup

cool looking cake.

Deej 09-05-2009 09:04 PM

She did a great fuckin job!

I have yet to try a fondant(sp?) cake.

Isnt it basically colored marshmallow material?

Good Stuff :thumbsup

AIbenjamink 09-05-2009 09:06 PM

Awesome :thumbsup

Zeroquest 09-05-2009 09:08 PM

At those prices, she's definitely not in sales. That's some cheap drink right there.

Awesome work though.

PurrrsianPussyKat 09-05-2009 09:09 PM

Looks awesome! If only fondant didn't taste awful. lol
(not picking on her cake, just sayin')

i think such cakes look super cool. i do have issue with that fondant. i have to peel it all off. to me it is about the taste of pouring a cup of sugar into your mouth. some is flavored some but it still is that sweet.
i am thinking of the rolled or shaped fondant and not the poured type which is a bit less sweet and reminds me of the liquids inside of easter candy.

potter 09-05-2009 10:36 PM

that is the shit dude, she did a great job

rowan 09-05-2009 10:41 PM

I hope she's charged a fair price that covers her material and time. My wife occasionally does paid jobs, once I broke down her costs and worked out that the cost of materials (and the process of acquiring them) was more than she'd charged. Probably the #1 mistake in entering a business is to think that you have to price low in order to get customers... in the long run you're just screwing yourself.

baddog 09-05-2009 10:45 PM

I would be in big trouble if I had a g/f that baked like that.

every cake like that has always cost me an assload even in a small city, from someone working out of their home. people seem adjusted to paying out the ass for cakes.

camchoice 09-05-2009 11:07 PM

Looks sweet...

I don't particularly like how fondant tastes but it's a very cute cake sure to make a kid really happy on their bday. :)

Mutt 09-06-2009 12:34 AM

my guess is that the stand, umbrella, kitty things, bucket, wagon, and sign are add ons and the rest is edible.
i could be very wrong and the animals could be made from modeling chocolate or that formed sugar stuff.

gecko 09-06-2009 12:41 AM

wow... looks awesome

nope was not. just did a google to find out. still does not change what i estimated - well i called them kitty type things, no clue on that. i do not have kids and no siblings in the age bracket that would expose me to such.
i just made my comments because my wife started doing cake stuff last year. i have seen toys both purchased and non edible and then some that were edible. my wife just has not been doing theme childrens cakes yet. she has mostly done holiday ones.

There is a lot more by-hand labor involved in these things than you might think. You're not paying for the CAKE, trust me.

dallasnovelty 09-06-2009 07:57 PM

Will we be seeing her on Ultimate Cake Off soon? they have built some really badass cakes on that show.

The little petshop cake is cool looking

iTouch! 09-06-2009 09:27 PM
