You have two options with facebook you can either pay per impression or per click and you can also choose diff countrys that you want your add displayed on. You can also select keywords. So I guess this woud have some kind of impact on the outcome of the ad. Im gonna let it run for a month then I will let you know if it was worth the money |
what are the costs for those ads?
|
how much for pay per click turkish traffic only?

I did not see good results. The CTR is horrible and it is very hard to control the clicks a day.

This is the first time i am trying it out so Im a noob at this |
Getting ads approved is a royal pain in the ass... You can submit the same ad and get rejected 20 times and get it approved the 21st time. With no changes.
I don't know who the hell is doing ad revisions over there. |

Mine is still pending but its for a mainstream site so hopefully there wont be any probs..but time will tell I guess EDIT I tell a lie its now running they have approved the ad ..that was pretty quick really I submited the ad not even an hour ago |

Ok here are some very quick results this does seem to be working
Out of 814 impressions I have 3 new fan members on the Facebook account made up for the website and 4 new members signed up to the site coming directly from Facebook .. This is looking pretty good atm |
My ad stats say Im spending £0.15 per click, bear in mind this is in GPB so its around $0.24 per click...mmm
|
I wont to know the result in the and of month
|
I'd much rather spend that money in adwords or YSM

I am after free members as the site is free to join, The conversions from free to paid members will happen at a later date. This is how these kinds of sites work Whether this will work or not I have no idea but im sure gonna give it a good old bash :) |

That was a couple of months ago, I don't know if they updated their process. Are you sending clicks to your profile and getting people to befriend you? I have always sent clicks straight to offers so that maybe the reason you got your ads approved quickly. |
|
It's not money down the drain, I've seen people make serious money off FB ads.
It's not google, but it works. I haven't had the patience to really try it though |
How is going your idea?
|
good luck!
I heard ctr sucks big time. My guess: Facebook traffic=mostly young kids that avoid clicking ads. They want it all for free. |

I dont remember the last time I clicked a banner ad on myspace or any of those social sites. |
Ok I ran an ad on Facebook for a little over a month
This is what I found You get hundreds of thousands of impressions but the click thru ratio is pretty poor Over the month the ad did generate users I got around 37 new free member signups coming directly from the ad on facebook over the month For me I think the best way to use facebook as an ad tool is to send people to my facebook fanclub via a paid ad. When your fanclub has a good amount of members just cancel the ad and your facebook fanclub will generate both fanclub members and signups for the site. This wont happen overnight but it does work if you are in it for the long haul. This was done for a mainstream site btw At the end of the day facebook might work totaly different for somebody else with a different kind of site but this is how it worked out for me. |

I also think that by building your facebook fanclub the people who do join have some kind of intrest in what you are trying to sell and you will end up with members that enjoy or want to be on your site and spend thier $$$ |
