a hair crimper-very 80's/early 90's-can do it with straight hair-if your hair is too wavy/curly I doubt you could see that. Definitely not natural.

It's crimping. Google crimpers. You can do it with any type of hair. Not sure why you'd want to though!

Don't do it. I remeber my sister and all her mates crimping in the 80's they loved it........ but they were only 14 yrs old. It looks bad

Crimping is way worse on your hair than using a straightening iron. They have newer irons that do bigger waves so it won't look as dated as the old style.

For super straight hair with no wave, you may need some hair product such as a heat-hardening gel to hold the crimp or it will fall out before you are done shooting.

For wavy or curly hair, you don't really need the product, but it has to be blow dried straight first. For hair with an extremely strong curl, it needs to be flat ironed and then crimped, after blow drying. My hair, for example, would take three steps like that.
