What software to use for a 4 camera security system hooked into my PC?

A friend of mine has these semi cheap 4 camera security systems. They simply transmit video to a VGA converter, which you plug into your TV or PC and watch.

I want to run something that will record the feeds. What software does that?

It would also be slick to be able to RDP in and watch the cams.

www.x10.com has some and I know BJ's wholesale club had a 4 camera system for $399 or 499 I think it was last time I was there.
