Does anyone know how to pull in a url? I am fooling around with this and this will pull a file from my site

[!--#include virtual="older/ad1.htm" --]

but it won't work with a url. Is there another syntax for pulling in a url?

It might be just a simple syntax error.

Try something like this:

[!--#include virtual="/older/ad1.htm"--]

1) Did you read http://httpd.apache.org/docs/misc/FAQ-F.html#ssi-part-i ?

2) Has SSI been activated for your virtual server?

Not URL unix file path.

include virtual will always start from root

[!--#include virtual='/home/htdocs/domain/www/file.txt' --]

include file are for files up a directory

But will that work if I call the file from http://my-other-site.com/adpage.html

And the file is on http://www.mysite.com/older/ads1.htm

What I wanted to do was pull the page in from a url. I'm not sure if I can do that.

Yes the server is set up for ssi on shtml files.

As long as the domains are on the same server and you start it from root, by the way use htaccess to pharse all .html & .htm files as server side includes to eliminate the .shtml file extension
