arguably the best writing in television history - he wrote a whopping 40% of all the episodes of M*A*S*H , show went on 5 years too long but its early years were brilliant.
much harder to write comedy than drama.

also wrote the big screen movies - Tootsie with Dustin Hoffman and Oh God with George Burns.
