Tokyo government threatens split with US
A split is emerging between the United States and Japan over the new Tokyo government's anti-globalisation rhetoric and its threats to end a refueling agreement for US ships in support of the war in Afghanistan.
Yukio Hatoyama, the leader of the Democratic Party of Japan, has caused alarm in Washington after publishing an article blaming the US for the ills of capitalism, the global economy and "the destruction of human dignity". http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worl...t-with-US.html Down, down, down into the burning rings of fire. |
Gee, let me guess... it must be Obama's fault right?
Oh wait, Obama's a big socialist, communist, hitler, fascist, so how do you blame him for "the ills of capitalism" ? Spin away dingbats! |
That sucks, but I guess they are losing confidence in us since we can't even manage our own country. But I doubt that they will evict our military from Japan since they don't have a means to protect themselves at the moment. It does make sense to bond relationships with China too. I will be visiting Japan this fall to see the inlaws and will most likely visit some people at the military base also.

If YOU became president tomorrow, and legitimately wanted to change the status quo, do you really think it would be possible to accomplish much in just 8 or 9 months?
Too many special interest own our government, on both sides of the aisle. I'm surprised when ANYTHING changes for the better, ever! That being said, NOTHING fucked up this country more than the previous administration. Obama doesn't worry me one bit. This country took an ugly fucking turn as soon as the GOP targeted the Clintons at all cost, and we have divided further each day since. |

Nah, we can't even begin to judge Obama. Give him a few more years. |

As long as I can still get Japanese bukkake porn, I don't give a shit what their relation is to the US.

Finally, Japan tries to find its own voice in the international sphere. Let's see how far the pendulum swings before these guys get thrown out and the LDP voted back in...

But what about Godzilla?
