Just got off freeway, 100 miles at 70-80 MPH. Few blocks from my destination and the "mount" came off and it landed in my lap.

Lucky for you that it landed in your lap. Have you thought about a rear helmet cam? That way you could shoot the best of both....coming and going :winkwink:
