Planning a Breckenridge vacation, any advice?

We are starting to get out January vacation together to go boarding out in Breckenridge. No one in our party has ever been. Any advice for us? Where some good places to stay? Is the town kinda small? Is most things in walking distance, etc.

I go every single year. The town is very small. Its mainly the main strip then residential minus condos. You can walk most anywhere as long as you stay some place decent. There is a free bus that takes you all over town. We ride that thing from our house out to the bars. I would advise looking at renting a house vs any resorts or condo's. They are actually pretty cheap now around (200-400/night for luxury house).

Look to rent out a log cabin w/ a jacuzzi and you're set
They have a great bunny slope and the towns great, I hope to go back soon

I've done a bunch of research, but do you guys think it will be good to go in Mid January?

Also, we found a house, but it's on Bald Mountain. Pretty bad ass place thought. Is that too far away?

There's this really fantastic Jamaican restaurant in the middle of town. I think you have to take some steps downward, it's kinda hidden if I remember correctly. I highly recommend it. I think it's called Rasta Pasta, or something along those lines.

A Jamaican place in the Mountains, who would have thunk it. I'm putting it on the list!

If this winter is anything like this summer was moisture wise, you should be fine.

Definitely walking distance to everything. There is also the free bus, which only goes to certain hotels but the hotels that is does is usually pretty close to all of the others.

Definitely drink only Breckenridge beers on tap, they're so fuckin fresh up there it's incredible.

I'm sure there will be enough snow. March is usually when it really dumps, but the mountains get snow all winter. It's gotten really wet around here lately already and as Honez said if it keeps like this it should be a pretty snow filled winter.

There's really only three things to do in Breck. Ski/Board, get drunk on the strip, or go touristy shopping along the strip. So hopefully that's enough for you guys.

I think the girls are all about the shopping. I'm all about the boarding.

Is Mount Bald area too far away?
