Formula 1 - Flavio Briatore Quits Renault
 

Flavio Briatore has left his position as boss of the Renault team after they decided not to contest charges of fixing the 2008 Singapore Grand Prix.

Executive director of engineering Pat Symonds has also left the team.

Serious drama.

I knew this was coming, heard rumours on TV at the weekend it might happen. They basically asked 1 driver to crash so their other driver could win. Its insane the lengths these teams will go to just to win a race.

Yeah. Every constructor point means more money for them.

the minute pat symonds turned round and said that he wouldnt be making any comments as he didnt want to lie, these guys were in big trouble!
the radio conversations didn't seem as though it was expected as flav really lost his rag with young piquet, however that could of just been for the benefit of radio!

Ugh, things like teammates "helping" each other is supposed to be under the radar.

Yup, big big money. I wonder how Fernando Alonso feels about the situation tho...

Renault handed suspended F1 ban

Renault have been given a two-year suspended ban from Formula 1 for their role in fixing last year's Singapore Grand Prix.

wow. how about burning capital and a good name.

They got off lightly.

I predict F-1 is in it's last few years.
