Bad Business Deal...
Now I am probably the newest person on the net with a website. I will admit I haven't been around long enough to know ANYTHING at all. I bought traffic from trafficcircuit.com and received nothing. Not ONE hit or even an explanation, after contacting them like I was on a episode of snapped. What gives?? All I wanted was pay my money, exchange for traffic and we are all good. Is this common place or what??
Also, could some kind person please tell me what am I doing right or wrong with my site since, really I don't know myself. I got 14000 hits and no real cash flow....any suggestions as to why? Thanks in Advance. |

Traffic source is important, but you'll need to post a link to your site so GFYers can check it out and see how it's presented.
Welcome to GFY ;) |
whats your site?
|
|
oh my god, that site looks fucking horrible
|
ok
well, I have been playing with it for days on end. Changing everything everytime. I really got tired of playing with it and did not do anything to it for a long time except change links.
This is why I asked you guys because I started out with all banners and someone said "don't use all banners because surfers won't click on them" so I switched to all text, and I have to admit I am a very colorful person (as you can tell) but really I have lost any design whatever. So area51, if it looks terrible, what looks better?? Can you send me a link to your site. I am new so, I did give you fair warning in advance.:upsidedow |
well you are honest ill give you that lol
go to some of the bigger resourse sites and have a look arround. "research is your biggest friend" |
thanks
Thanks Loch,
That's more useful then critical advice. Really I had a completely different site, but trashed it and got frustrated (am I the only one?). This is a spare thing not main thing (have day job) so its hard to know some of these things, that's why I am asking you guys who know what's going on, because I (as you can see) do not.:thumbsup |
since when does white pink & blue goto gether?
:2 cents: you should just forward your site to another site youd have better luck |

your right!!
Yeah I know it doesn't go together... (that's why I gave you a heads up prior to going to the site) I did give warning. But since I'm not trying to make anybody go into seizures or anything I did change the color, but keep in mind, it STILL in colorful...lol. Really I want one of those beautiful sites where you just want to see more and more and more and your able and ready to pay for it...but I am still new and everybody was new at some point around the block.:)

do a search on GFY for trafficcircuit.com to see if they've scammed anyone else.
If you paid via paypal or a credit card, dispute the charges. Otherwise, you're SOL. There's lots of scammers around feeding off the newbies. |
thanks!!
Yeah, I guess I am SOL. I did dispute via paypal, but unless some others are scammed too, I just have to wait they said. I was just overjoyed with paying them my money for nothing:mad:

Sweet jesus.... you trying to SERP for every keyword in the universe? That index page is a monster... cut it to like 10%....

Go ahead and try that today from zero with no connections and or zero cash :1orglaugh |
ok
Thanks sharphead!
Believe me it took awhile to put all that on one page...lol. Anywho, where can I get a good company to just "take over" and build me a site...I am like brain fried at the moment. I just can't stomach another redesign. Like you said that was a 'monster' so any suggestions on site builders who do adult design? |
There are plenty designers on here looking for work. Just post in the buy sell section and hire someone but check out their portfolio 1st and do your research on them
I've heard and seen horror stories about ppl paying for services that where never delivered. Just a heads up on scammers, beware. |
Thanks
Thanks I will look around. Kool name peeperpimp:thumbsup

That site is a mess, way too many things going on.
As someone new to the game start with something small and focus on a couple programs at a time. Focus on one niche and work on getting a target audience to your site. |
Ignore all of the haters.
A lot of people talk shit on here but have websites that look like they were developed using Microsoft FrontPage in 1996. It's all about trial and error. If you're using sponsors with NATS or MPA3 or whatever, make sure you setup campaigns so that you can figure out what does sell. I am sometimes surprised at what sells and what doesn't. The most interesting multiple sales I got was when I did a blog post with nothing but text just to see how it would do. Also, remember that works for one person may not work for another. Also, get to know your traffic. Install Google Analytics so that you can see who is clicking and where, how they are entering and exiting the site, etc. Also, use Google Webmaster Tools to see what keywords you rank on and try to improve on them. I'm surprised at some of the popular keywords I rank good for when I didn't even try to rank for them. Both text and pictures can sell porn. You have lots of banners, but throw up some of the free affiliate content that sponsors offer. Plus, if you're fed up with design, have you thought about making it a blog? Install WordPress and get yourself a good theme. I use a single theme across all of my sites (they are different niches so it doesn't really matter) called Daily Press. It's a free theme (who doesn't love free?!) but it looks like a premium one and it is quite easy to edit. Going the blog route with a good theme will allow you to stop focusing on the design and allow you to focus on providing the content that will convert your surfers. Remember, even the hardest asses here were all new to this game at one point. They will tell you that you won't make it -- but if you are determined enough, you will. Rome wasn't built in a night, but if you treat your mind like a sponge and absorb everything you see and hear, you'll have a leg up on the other newbies. Keep doing what you're doing. I can already tell that you're passionate about this and you're willing to stick your neck out there so that the assholes on this board can shit on you. Ignore the haters and keep plugging away. You'll eventually find out what will work for you and your traffic. One tip: try to focus on a single niche for your first site. Don't try to sell 18-22 y/o girls...everybody is doing that. Try to find something that everybody else isn't already pushing ... it will make that first sale come along much sooner and you can rank good for keywords a lot easier. Although it was in the mid-90's that I built my first site ... it looked HORRIBLE. Your first site always does. Think of it as training wheels. Finally, remember that you have a lot less on the line right now. It's OK to mess up. Thinking outside of the box may be what makes you a big success, so don't be afraid to experiment. :2 cents: :thumbsup |
Sexlist link? Lord is this 2000? Does that still get trafic? I think your giving it more traffic than it gives you these days.
|
We all have to start somewhere. You're come to GFY with the right attitude, at least. An open mind is very important.
But don't give up. Try, try, try again. Sometimes that involves a complete redesign... just sayin'. Good luck with the site! |
eptiome has some great advice. Especially about the wordpress blog. Yes, just about everyone uses it, and there's a reason for it. There are SOO many useful plugins for it, that it just makes websites so damn easy.
That DailyPress theme is pretty nice, especially for free. If you got money to spend, I suggest Busy Bee. I just love this theme, and also use it on just about every blog I run. Also, do NOT let yourself get caught up having a shit throwing contest with some of the assholes around here who say you'll never make it, your site sucks, you should go die of AIDS, etc. Just ignore the shit, not even worth a response. Keep on keepin on. Last note, feel free to contact me on ICQ OR email at about ANYTHING. You have a good attitude coming into this, and I respect that. So hit me up for anything what so ever. No matter how dumb the question or request. |
ok...
I get what your saying. I am trying to find someone to build me a site, as you can see I'm not good at that part. Anyway like you said, I did find the keywords to my site abit strange because with all that I have on there, they were asking for something even I found surprising, so maybe that is a good niche to start, and I'm glad it was not teens.
Hey I only used sexlist because it list every page that got a hit and at the time, I did not know it was '2000 old material or fresh for '2009, all I know is it tells me where they are coming from and who was sending it. I have since found a better solution, but like I said I haven't updated this site in a few. So all I can say is look for my 'New and improved' site in the future, once I find a builder and we get together...ok Besides, my site, messed up as it is, was NOT what I really was asking but these messed up scammers who get newbies like me. I am more the wiser to check things out first on here, but I wasn't allowed on here at first, I had to get an email account that wasn't free. So I have learned much today, and more to come....Thanks to all for what you said, one day I will not be a newbie and maybe be able to give advice, but I won't be rude about it...I'm always friendly, I don't waste time on anything else, life's short and I like to have fun without stress...so till then....:) |
At this point it's going to take a lot of work and you will be changing things around until you see some traffic, then you will see what works what doesn't. It's never too late to get in the biz but it takes a lot of work nowadays. Good luck and don't give up.

Hey scented, hit me up on ICQ and I'll throw some ideas at you about building a better site.
