Buy firewire enclosure or E-sata

Add 4 x 1tb disks, and set it up as Raid 1+0.

If you see yourself needing to upgrade a lot due to downloading a ton of shit all the time, setup a "server" for yourself. Get a cheap desktop, fill it with large hard drives(quality ones, Western Digital) and connect it to your home network. BAM. It will save you money and trouble in the long run.

RevShare it! 09-19-2009 08:26 PM

Thats a whole lot of gay porn man!

If you do buy a 2TB external make sure it's a single 2TB drive, and not 2 x 1TB in RAID0/JBOD format. If either of the drives dies in that setup, you lose all your data.

+1 for a NAS. If you have the $ have a look at Drobo, they use a virtual drive system which allows you to grow your storage by replacing drives as cheaper/larger ones become available. No need to reformat or do anything special, just pull the old drive and replace it with a new one.

If you're into DIY then look up FreeNAS
