HIV - death sentence or chronic manageable disease?
What do you know about it?
AFAIK with modern medicine HIV+ individuals can expect to live a normal lifespan. Are only poor people dying from AIDS nowadays? |

If detected early enough, and treated well enough, it falls into the chronic disease category.
It is still something that nobody should want. There are a ton of complications but life goes on. I know plenty of people living with it, but their lives sure aren't easier. |
Probably a little bit of both.
They will probably die from it. The one family member I have who is HIV+ seems to live a normal life, and he was diagnosed 8 or so years ago now. |

In the UK we have a phrase - 'post code lottery'....Having HIV/AIDS in one country is a different thing than having it in another.

I've never met anyone who has AIDS but I guess in today's day and age it's very manageable.
