Leaving Adult, moving into Removals / House Moving
 

So I bought a house an hour south of Sydney, beach suburb, lots of space for the kids etc, and need to move all my home contents down there.

Was just quoted $1690 by a firm to shift my gear.

Allowing for a slow truck, 3 hours travel time, no more than an hour and a half each way to load / unload, so for 6 hours work (remove $90 for insurance), 2 guys make $800 each. 5 days per week like that if they're busy, $208,000 per year each?

lol sharphead, I wouldn't wish it on anyone. I refuse all requests of that ilk now, sod that.

My buddy owns a local moving company here and makes bank. He only goes in this local area and is cheaper than the competition. Pays his guys $14/hr starting out, too. He has about 8 teams of 2. 25 years old.. his parents gave him the option of 15k when he graduated HS, or college tuition. He took the 15k and started the company.
