The very first thing I wonder these days is.. How much money are the top executives making in bonus while the company goes close to bankruptcy?

Fletch XXX 09-23-2009 01:34 PM

goodbye to all 10

DaddyHalbucks 09-23-2009 01:37 PM

The GM bailout was wrong.

BestXXXPorn 09-23-2009 01:44 PM

OMG quick, bail them all out! Let's give them all at least $20B... it's obviously the economy at work here and we need to make sure they don't go under...

Almost all of these companies have child companies, mostly in other countries, which have not been considered in this 'poll'.

Interesting that CBS is on that list when they've been generally killing it in ratings over the past several years. I guess the overhead with reality shows is so low that even mildly successful ones make as much as very successful traditional shows.

It would be easier to list the 10 large mainstream companies not veering toward bankruptcy.... and accept the notion that the rest all are. :2 cents:

pornguy 09-23-2009 02:25 PM

most of those are predictable.. But the one that gets me is AMD

BestXXXPorn 09-23-2009 02:59 PM

AMD really went wrong when it merged with / bought ATI...

There was a span of about 2 years where they just stopped releasing new tech, they fell behind and lost a LOT of ground. In retrospect I think it was a bad move :( At the time I thought it was a fantastic idea :P

I can't wait to see Hertz go bankrupt. Fuck that company. One of the worst car rental companies I have ever used...

Semi-Retired-Dave 09-23-2009 03:05 PM

I blame it all on the Tubes.

Pretty sad, some big companies there.

good point.

Surprised to see Sprint/Nextel on that list, but I guess with a lot of construction businesses laying people off I bet their Nextel subscribers had a big hit.

I think their biggest mistake was not merging the two services into one, but instead trying to keep them separate. If you could have bought the Sprint phone service with the option of the Nextel radio in one "good" phone they would have done so much better.

That is why Samanta Who got canceled. Earlier this decade a show like that wouldn't have been canceled ... the ratings were there, it got lots of praise ... it was a great show. It was also an expensive show ... so it got the ax.

I am convinced that reality TV is partly responsible for the dumbing down of America. Far too many people think it's reality when it's anything but.
