Come out of the closet. Post your ratios here.

I've done this a couple times before, and I'm challenging both affiliates and sponsors to do the same. Enough anecdotal stories, let's assemble some data.

As a paysite owner, I can show you stats from a collection of affiliates with various traffic sources. This is the unedited, for better or worse, RAW first-page ratios for every affiliate who has sent more than 10 sales to Boobzooka in the past several weeks. (leaving the exact timeframe vague for financial privacy)

I'm posting this here for two reasons. I'm genuinely curious how our ratios compare (are we all down about the same?); and because I selfishly suspect our sites are still converting above average, so it might earn us some extra traffic.

Yeah, seriously... you know you're treading on sensitive territory when all you hear are the crickets.

I will try to update this tonight.

mikesinner 09-25-2009 07:13 PM

1:836 is my highest ratio. I think the difference between those stats and a lot of others here is that you go after volume. You make more money but the traffic quality is lower.

Blogging brings in the higher quality traffic but many people are to lazy to blog.

stever 09-26-2009 01:01 PM

cool stats but
you didn't show the $$$
and without that those stats might or might not be as good as they look

StariaDaniel 09-26-2009 01:36 PM

Some of mine:
1:796, 15 Sales, 11944 Clicks
1:901, 26 Sales, 23419 Clicks
1:263, 7 Sales, 1841 Clicks
1:1173, 24 Sales, 28151 Clicks
1:605, 32 Sales, 19367 Clicks
1:390, 18 Sales, 7024 Clicks

Mixed all kind of traffic (blogs, toplists, tgps), all numbers posted above either from our own paysites or paysites we're working for as an affiliate - keep in mind it's all niche stuff

RyanKeely 09-26-2009 06:01 PM

I have a crazy good ratio on ryankeely dot com, but very little traffic. Usually around 1:185...My guess is that its because people who are looking for me are already fans who have seen me in a magazine spread, radio interview or feature show.

Ratios mean nothing without dollar values.

I can show you an AWESOME ratio for dating gold right now.. it's like 1:70... and I could stop there and everyone would sign up under me expecting to be making thousands..

Then I would tell you i've made $40.00 on 20 "sales" and well.. now it's a completely different story.

Yeah, but I assumed if the point of the thread was to get a "big picture" of the industry right now, then webmasters would say if they're including free joins or whatever. Boobzooka doesn't do free signups, or any kind of trials, so all those affiliates are getting a flat 70% RevShare.

I guess it's more likely this'll just devolve into cherrypicking numbers for the sake of spam, or bragging, but I'd be very interested to see other sponsors posting ALL their uninterrupted ratios; good, bad, and ugly. With any explanation/disclaimers they feel necessary for the sake of accuracy.

Sure, we actually published our overall stats YTD in our magazine ads recently so they are no secret:
Hustler.com: 1/314
BarelyLegal.com: 1/265

I know some people won't believe me so I invite them to the office and I will show them personally

I have promoted AWE (in my sig below) exclusively for the last 3 years. I just checked my stats going back the last 3 years and my sales ratio is 1 sale for every 100 uniques sent with earnings of 12 cents a click on average.
