Twitter spam

So are the glory days over? if you automate too much they ban your account.

Lace 09-25-2009 05:16 AM

Pretty sure you can report the spam now.

alias 09-25-2009 05:17 AM

They banned my accounts before I even tried spamming. Got the ones I wanted back, but never tried any automation software on there. Bump for replies.

This is the raw-dope from some people I know.....

Person 1) The traffic is worth like 1/100th of any other social network.

Person 2) Their legal department will contact your sponsor within a week. Any little $ i did make was killed along with my accounts.

Person 3) They contacted google adsense about my landing page. My google adsense account of 5 years is now gone.

Person 4) They banned all of my ip's in less than a month.

There is NO MONEY is spamming twitter. :2 cents:

Can you clarify this statement? Were you linking directly to your affiliate from your twitter page? Or linking to your website which had the affiliate links?

Were you spamming them using some automated program?

Did every single tweet contain a link to your site or to the affiliate?

I am just curious because I never have used them because I assumed they would eventually get around to deleting the account so I did not want to put a lot of effort into it, only to have it banned but in the last week or so I have been looking closer at the site and they have a LOT of adult twitter pages leading to pretty raunchy content and some of those accounts go back many months.

Just trying to get a handle on exactly what thier tolerance level is for twitter accounts that link to adult sites. Will linking to an adult site in and of itself get you deleted or is it more a matter of automation and/or posting a link to yourself on every tweet.

Thanks-

p.s.- sorry that happened to you man that sucks although obviously theres a lot of sponsors around so maybe you will find someone even better down the road, who knows.

I did nothing.....I never touched twitter, & i don't even think I have a personal account.

I am relaying information received from close friends & clients. And information overheard by my friends, relayed from others.

I spam twitter... rather, I fake humans on twitter and inject links. I have automated tools that help me build my following, auto build it, auto find new followers and auto remove people not following back.

We have many accounts, I know that is nothing to the real players that have several 1000 by this point.

But, I have 'yet' to have an account banned. I'm able to produce income daily from Twitter, trackable income. On top of that, I have easily grown my mailing list 10x it's size and the same with feedreaders.

Effort vs reward... It's effortless with lots of reward.

So the key is thousands of accounts, thanks for info Doc. Still don't think I will bother.

If you can find any type of *spam* that doesn't take 100's or 1000's MORE of something, to be productive.. please let me know :)

mind sharing the name of the tool? If you dont want to mention it on a public board shoot me an e-mail to modelinglinks[@]yahoo.com

I use http://twitaddict.com/hummingbird/ (paid tool)

No idea if it's the best, but it does the trick. It opens in its own browser, so it simulates a human doing the work.

You can get banned going crazy on it.. but I do it like this..

Setup and hand follow about 50 people, takes like 2 minutes.

Then setup with http://www.twollo.com/ (free tool) to get auto following going.

I then use several tools to fake my posts, but mainly: hootsuite.com (free and it tracks clicks of links sent through the service, so great tool)

And now.. Wait two days, and jump it to 250, next day 500.. Then I wait 2 days and clear non-followers. Then I bump it up and repeat in blocks of 250-500ish.

The bitch is you can't follow more than 2k until you have more than 2k following.

So when you get close, start posting more text than links, like 10 to 1. Then go follow people you actually like, are active, that follow people back (equal following/followers)

The last 250 to 2000k is the slowest part. Once over 2k, it's a 10% follow rule. So it's easy for you to see how fast you can grow.

Every group of following roughly half follow back. So you go follow like 185 (gota leave room for auto follows), and roughly 1/2 will follow back. You can start doing this daily, but I rotate through the accounts personally giving each plenty of time to do some natural building.

Don't forget I get 10% of what you earn.

This is pretty much my setup but feel free to use www.twitadict.com :winkwink:

But this exact setup is getting hit with some of their antispam stuff now.
