Anyone else getting lots of spam from the IRS?

These spammers are smart, but know what season it is to send the spam! :winkwink:

yeah lots of them telling me I have under reported income and a link to an IRS site - with a link to a fake IRS domain with an EU domain name extension.

scary that there are probably lots of people out there who will take those emails seriously.

governments of the world need to get tough on cyber scammers - put these phishing scammer in jail for 20 years, older people shouldn't have to deal with these predators.

scarriest people on the planet to try and steal from are the IRS.

If the IRS wants to get a hold of you they will send a registered letter...not an email.

pornguy 09-29-2009 05:21 AM

Been getting a ton of that on every e-mail address I have

RayBonga 09-29-2009 05:36 AM

same here, but they overdue it. I got over 15 the other day, not to mention that I'm not a US citizen

The Ghost 09-29-2009 06:12 AM

5-10 a day to every mailbox

ADL Colin 09-29-2009 06:19 AM

I actually had a state agency contact me once through an e-mail address they got from WHOIS as opposed to calling me on the phone number that I gave them. I thought that was pretty bizarre.

GrouchyAdmin 09-29-2009 07:30 AM

What's interesting is that they have the two accounts I've ever used to sign up as an affiliate, but none of the others.

czarina 09-29-2009 07:44 AM

yes I'm getting like 4 or 5 a day with "notice of under reported income"

Jim_Gunn 09-29-2009 09:07 AM

Yeah, I am also getting bombarded with dozens of these every day on multiple email addresses.

F-U-Jimmy 09-29-2009 09:12 AM

I just checked my spam mail box, have over 200 of these spam emails. Thank god i set up my mail box to detect shit like this :upsidedow

Tom_PM 09-29-2009 09:17 AM

Been said numerous times on the news each year that the real IRS *never* emails anyone anything. And bonus tip, "viagra" is not spelled with \/ or @. Dont get tangled in the nets. :1orglaugh
