I love Miso.. Just hate thinking about whats in it...

i.e. the dried fish parts paste that end up in some variations of the soup.. but its still damn tasty..

These are some of the benefits of having a Japanese wife. You should see what the inlaws make me when we're over there, I've never seen so many types of fish and different little dishes on the table, full of who knows what. I've learnt it's best not to ask, just eat. :)

Yup.
Need some protein too. Toss in some tofu and perhaps some bonito flakes. Then no issue with stirring in an egg white or whole egg.

Sarah_Jayne 09-30-2009 02:33 AM

sounds good to me but don't plan on being too far from a place to pee most of the day

isn't that the standard miso soup recipe, minus the egg perhaps?

i always make my miso soup with tofu. i substitute wasabi-infused sesame oil for the bonito, though, because i don't like fish very much. i've used wakame seaweed too, before, when i was on a ~sea minerals are good for your skin and hair~ kick.

I thought it was myself, however I have gotten in a bunch of times without the tofu cubes.
