I need some quick advice
 

My ex-wife scheduled a flu shot for my daughter tomorrow. She is with me and I am suppose to bring her to get it.

I don't agree with flu shots... I'm not completely anti-flu shots but just think most healthy bodies do just fine without it.

I want to go to the diner instead of the doctor's office...

My question is this... If this went before a judge (it likely will)

Would the judge support my decision that I don't want any shit injected into my daughters body?

yeah... that's what my ex listens to.

my aunt, mother, father, cousins... all my other aunts, uncles, etc. never had flu shots. I didn't either till I was married. I don't ever remember getting the flu except when I was young... maybe twice.

my thoughts... as a parent... I don't want, need, or welcome a proprietary shot.

The every year shot... I don't want my daughter to get either. She comes from my blood and doesn't need it.

My opinion is we are getting a big fat breakfast and I will put a little bandage on her arm so her mother thinks she is that much healthier :2 cents:

so my ex called me from 8:00 to about 9:00 am. I never answered the phone... she also drove to my house and knocked on my door.

She left... thank the almighty above, and then called me at 9:05. She yelled at me for about 2 minutes and then I told her that I was at the doctors already. convo ended peacefully.

Then I got another phone call about 4:00 and she yelled at me till I hung up the phone.

I put a bandage on her arm but it was suppose to be the flu mist shot... woops.

You and your ex should discuss this like adults with the medical practitioner that recommended it. If you can't agree, then I would have thought the final decision would be with whoever had custody.

bottom line... i don't want her to ever get the flu shot but her deranged mother will do it on her time. What do I do now?

They don't have enough shots to cover every under 25, all the kids at that, let alone the old and sick.

do what's best for your daughter- don't make this an issue between mommie and daddie about daughter. you obviously have some pent-up resentment towards her mom that could be clouding your thought process.

No offense champ, but I think if I had kids I would listen to the World Health Organization, and the Center for Disease Control on the safety, and their recommendations, for my children in a pandemic.

Very stupid. Not my kid, not my family so on a personal level I do not really give a shit. Straight out telling her no you will not get her one would be one thing (even though I do not agree with it). Trying to fake it and making her think you really did give her one was even more fucking stupid. Not only putting her at chance of getting the flu, but perhaps if she did get sick and the doctors asked about it and mom said yup she got it. Then they now have the wrong fucking information to work off of.

The vaccine is the flu, so they can build up immunity to the flu, not stop them from getting it. You could still get it and still die from it, just like you could die from the vaccine.

A non tested, rushed on the market drug, so drug companies can profit before the rug is pulled out from under them.

Since when do kids die from the flu? They get sick, miss a couple days of school, get well, end of story. Or you could always inject them with new drugs with unknown side effects...

Pandemic means it has spread to a certain number of countries. It is pretty cut and dry.
You can also disagree all you want, it is your kid. Hiding it instead of standing up for your beliefs is still wrong though and could lead to other issues if something did happen and if you still disagree with that, you have a very messed up way of thinking in regards to how diagnosis works.

Again I have no real worries that you do not agree with it. Just do not like the lying about it. If I were in your shoes I would tell her no and got a quick injunction. Technically there is no reason why your kid needs the standard flu shot, unless she has other medical issues, will be around elderly or pregnant people, or you just want to be extra cautious.

I am not for shots for everyone. My lines are pretty clear. Pregnant people, elderly, people with health problems, people around those such people, and health care workers should get every type of flu shot each year. Still undecided about h1n1 (except for above), but fuck that is not even really available yet.

Yes the normal flu often is.
Some colds have been.
Just because it kills you or can makes it able to be on the list. It is not like you will catch asthma from someone.

You do know that many agencies including the CDC all agree that nurses who do bypass the flu shot are one of the number 1 spreaders of the flu. They just may not show symptoms themselves. Hell a number of DNA studies have traced assorted flu outbreaks to given hospitals and their staff.

So do not say with no problems. Then people wonder why some patients die of an unrelated illness when they were admitted.

Your aunt would also have no information that everyone else does not have about the h1n1 vaccine, only difference is she is a nurse and she is putting her judgment over patients lives and those judgements of scientists who specialize in these sort of things. Plus I have met more than my share of full on retarded nurses, many whom I have fired from my patient care because they could not understand other concepts like washing their fucking hands before touching me, only big problem with nurses is they are about as protected as teachers.

No that is not the only way, has helped in the past a couple times but no not always the only way.
Go ahead and doubt how evolved they are, no skin off my back. I can assure you that unless we actually have a actual doctor of medicine on this board, odds are I know more about medicine, the medical field, infections, our immune systems, and just about everything else health related (besides odd diets like super weight gain, and steroid usage) than anyone else on here.

Yes it has not adapted to every disease, which the flu is not such. Yes we are talking about the flu and the primary reason we catch the damn thing each year is because it has changed yet again from the last seasons version. Our only plus with the normal flu is it is fairly predictable and not new. It has not shown itself to jump quickly or do strange shit. Same can not be said of the swine version.

Someone like yourself has no real worries of such a vaccine, go ahead read up above what I did say. They are not for everyone, well at least the flu ones are not.

Though people seem quick to forget history and it was less than 90 or so years ago that we had a pandemic that took out around 100 million people and infected shitloads more. Oddly enough it was a flu virus and also a subtype of the poor harmless little swine flu.

I personally can not think of a time in my life that the word 'pandemic' has been used by leading health agencies. I am not saying it hasn't ever happened, but not to my knowledge anyway.

Yes... Pandemics don't have to be world wide, they can be in a single city or region of the world. Most major pandemic virus or whatever, are still active in the world. Other than the really old ones.

The flu has been pandemic before, early 90's.. and AIDS/HIV as another example.

Getting a vaccine, does not stop you from getting the flu. It makes it so when you get the flu, you can beat it quicker.

It doesn't mean a person that hasn't had the vaccine, can catch it quicker... it just means they "might" get sicker.


Again, if this was pandemic as in killing people off... I would be all over it. But because you live on this half of the world, you missed out on the other half going through it during the Winter - and it looks like they all lived.
