Newbies Want Great Free Advice?
I have been getting these newsletters for a few weeks now and I actually spent 5 minutes reading one of them today. I was very impressed with the email, information, and free advice this company offers. This guy, Bruce runs it. I have hung out with him at some trade shows and had some laughs, but this project of his is quite impressive. I just wanted to give him a plug.
If you are a newbie, then subscribe to this newsletter...it's a good read.: Even if you are an old school veteran, it's good to be reminded of practical business habits/strategies. http://adultb2b.biz/adult-marketing/logo.gif |

Post liquid lunch rant............
When I started in 96/97 the only place for webmasters was Ynot. That was it. It was an amazing community that helped each other, shared secrets, and prospered as a whole. There was alot of fireworks and ethical debate, but it all was intelligent and productive. If someone bashed you and they were a newbie it held ZERO weight. Reputation and integrity was at the forefront. Now its the wild wild west full of alot of aggressive cowboys with big guns yet no bullets. Seems like when YNot sunk ship (losing Bob) and GFY came out...there was this massive shift in the adult community to fun, humor, and non-business discussion. People were making crazy money and could relax a bit. The newbies were exploited and taken advantage of. The guys with the pie didn't want any more slices given out.(This created a bunch of unrespectful little bitches in the adult internet, as the second generation.) These guys were tough, since they had a big brother hazing the shit out of them, but nonetheless they became successful on their own merits.
Now with the recession, and insane visa/mc regulations, obscenity laws, thieving lawyers trying to dig into you, cc fraud, educated surfers, tube sites...you literally need a PHD in programming, accounting, and marketing to make any money in this business. Plus you have every company that USED to make money that now isn't trying to destroy or steal what you have created and make it their own. That's why I like this website. You'd think this was MY website by the way I am plugging it. No. I just am touched that people respect the art of this business. I miss doing the radio show with Holly. I miss Evan and D-Money's show. I miss Ynot Bob being my idol. This site is a step in the right direction. People pay some respect. |
Good Stuff George! Thanks for the heads up!
