Is it possible to influence the world through the mind alone?
According to wiki:
In September 2006, a survey about belief in various religious and paranormal topics conducted by phone and mail-in questionnaire polled Americans on their belief in telekinesis. Of these participants, 28% of male participants and 31% of female participants selected "agree" or "strongly agree" with the statement "It is possible to influence the world through the mind alone". There were 1,721 participants, and the poll had a margin of error of plus or minus 4%. In April 2008, British psychologist and skeptic Richard Wiseman published the results of an online survey he conducted entitled "Magicians and the Paranormal: A Survey," in which 400 magicians worldwide participated. For the question Do you believe that psychokinesis exists (i.e., that some people can, by paranormal means, apply a noticeable force to an object or alter its physical characteristics)?, the results were as follows: No 83.5%, Yes 9%, Uncertain 7.5%. My belief: Oh yeah! :thumbsup |
Ask Patrick Stewart, he's seen it all.
I had to do this, one of the most hilarious parts of any show ever. |
The mind can influence the world around it and that's why I'm Hugh Hefner and no one else is going to convince me otherwise :winkwink:

Nope. Although it would be nice!

the mind is powerful but i dont think it can influence the whole world..

umm most of the US believes there is a god in the sky who will send you to a firey pit for eternity if you dont go to church every sunday.... of course these same idiots believe "things exist"
That doesnt make it true just because people belive it. LOL Ill be the only atheist in the foxhole when i die. |
There is no other way to influence the world, except through your mind. How else are you gonna do it, through your ass? Although I suppose that is feasable.
|
I'll have to think about that .......

well, I mean to incluence the world around us; obviously I can't sit down to meditate and end hunger or AIDS in Africa. But I'm positive that by having positive thoughts (yes, I know I just repeated the word 'positive'), we can influence our direct environment.

The answer to your question is yes for the most part. This is why you have TV and churches. And once the mind has been altered by a continuance of repetition those who have been affected would even lie to themselves to protect "their beliefs." |
