Brody will star with Alice Braga ("I Am Legend"), Danny Trejo (upcoming "Machete"), Walt Goggins ("The Shield"), UFC Fighter Oleg Taktarov, Mahershalalhashbaz Ali ("The 4400"), and Louis Ozawa. The Hollywood Reporter says that Topher Grace ("That 70s Show") is also in negotiations to join the cast.

Brody is a man who ends up inheriting the mantle of leader and is known as a hunter of men. Grace would play an accountant-type whose unassuming facade masks a dangerous serial killer.

Braga is the tough female killer. Ali is a man not afraid to die, Goggins is the loose canon of the group and Taktarov is a former Russian special ops agent. Trejo is a hardened warrior with twin uzis strapped to his back.

Nimrod Antal is directing, and filming is about to get underway on location in Hawaii and at Rodriguez’s Troublemaker Studios in Austin, Texas.

Fox has set the film for release July 9, 2010.

Adrian Brody and Danny Trejo directed by Rodriguez sounds pretty golden. Predator 2 is fun to watch and laugh at, but the original is the only one really worth it's salt IMO. Predator really is such an awesome creature / villian. I'm almost psyched, but don't want to get my hopes up just yet. Hollywood tends to have a way of fucking things up that look REALLY good on paper. :thumbsup

eesh, the pianist as an action hero? that's a hard sell.

so it sounds as if a group of "human predators? will become the prey of "alien predator(s)"

I thought he did ok in King Kong... I really liked him in The Jacket, but that's more of a psychological thriller I guess / not really the same kinda role.

Adrian Brody is too much of a pussy to be a good action hero and Trejo is a B-movie actor...so it may be easily the worst predator movie so far. They would need guys like Christian Bale to help the movie.

Which is why i wouldn't get my hopes up for this...

AVP surely wasn't a great film, but good enough to waste time and relax if you don't feel like thinking too much during a movie. I'm having such periods sometimes, after I need to switch off my brain for 90 minutes. :)

I vote Ice Cube for token black guy in the new predator. He can have a witty one liner like 'fuck your cracker ass aint no predator called me nig ger' directed at the return of Gary Buseys character just as *future spoiler* the predator comes out of cloke over Cubes shoulder 20:16 into the film.
