Pornopat 10-09-2009 03:57 AM

So my bank is asking me questions about the payments I receive from ccbill...

They want to know names of customers including websites and commercial purpose of the payment...

:helpme

I am very sure they will stop my account if I show them the websites.
Anybody ever dealt with this?

MaDalton 10-09-2009 04:10 AM

nope, never. and i don't think they have a right to ask. but do they have a problem with adult? our german and czech banks never had a problem, they know what we do.

SleazyDream 10-09-2009 04:13 AM

ccbill deals with many things non adult

they have no right to ask you your business - i would not tell them and remind them about the banking privacy legislation

pinkbits 10-09-2009 04:16 AM

I am very surprised there is no privacy laws. If my bank asked me all these questions I would go else where. There needs to be somethings left private. Sorry to hear the stress your under mate. That must be a tough one for you. All the best with it.

BAKO 10-09-2009 04:18 AM

get a Corp and they will stop asking questions, it happpend to me

Ginn 10-09-2009 04:19 AM

Several times my bank asked me if payments recieved were related to business, but they've never asked what exactly business it is.

pinkbits 10-09-2009 04:20 AM

Our governments really control us like robots. We really have no freedoms in many ways i think. They just want there hands in our pockets all the time. BUt i bet when we really need them, we are totally alone with nowhere to turn to.

Yes they have a problem with adult. Kind of silly since they were once caught as investors in a factory producing chemical war products for dicators.

They tell me they have a "know your costumer" policy. I am sure they googled it and wikipedia is very clear on ccbill CCBill provides billing services for a variety of subscriptions and services, in particular for online pornography.

I better set up a site selling oranges through ccbill...I hear thats how it all started.

Zester 10-09-2009 04:56 AM

if you tell them it's for online porn they can close your account or something ?

i can't believe this. is this what the Netherlands are coming to ? Iran ?

punkpred 10-09-2009 05:14 AM

Smells like IRS behing the bank

Relentless 10-09-2009 05:36 AM

Move your money to another bank. Even if they back off, why let them make a profit from you. Tell them they have insulted you and you have decided you would prefer they go out of business.

BlackCrayon 10-09-2009 05:57 AM

switch banks. if my bank was that nosey i'd tell them to go fuck themselves. i've never had a bank question what my payments are for.

CC 10-09-2009 06:02 AM

No way would I put up with that level of snooping. Switch banks. Now.

:2 cents:

CDSmith 10-09-2009 06:44 AM

My bank recently asked me about the nature of some wire transfers I regularly recieve from the US and overseas, and the woman was also curious about the nature of my business. I said I'm sorry but it's far too involved a process to sit here and try to explain it all to someone who doesn't know first-hand how it's done and how money is made over the internet.

Turns out she was really just interested because she thought those payments were from foriegn investments of mine and she wanted to see if there was any way her bank could take over the handling of those investments. I set her straight on that and they haven't pestered me since.

But I do like DamagX's suggestion of telling them to mind their own business or else.

Raf1 10-09-2009 06:45 AM

I would just switch banks.

CIVMatt 10-09-2009 06:57 AM

Time to switch banks

MrMaxwell 10-09-2009 07:19 AM

They must be out of their fucking minds
But you're lucky enough to KNOW they've got a hardon for you
Now go to a better bank
Don't make a scene and close your account, just quietly move to another bank with your real business

V_RocKs 10-09-2009 07:20 AM

I would switch banks...

Wizzo 10-09-2009 07:25 AM

Sounds like BofA and they have closed people's accounts for being in adult, just ask Silvercash... :winkwink:

tammix 10-09-2009 07:46 AM

banks are very sensitive today after all the 9/11 thing and the money laundry and depending on the town the bankers might think of you as a depraved citizen if you run an adult business, move to another bank or be ready to be looked as a filthy, bad citizen every time you enter the bank

beemk 10-09-2009 07:48 AM

only in america!

Roald 10-09-2009 07:49 AM

My brother got his account closed with Rabobank years ago already lol

We had problems with ING and ABN too. ABN is ok now though, they needed to know it all too blah blah bullshit.

Tom_PM 10-09-2009 07:59 AM

Questions about payments you receive? Tell them to google "what is a check". There are plenty of definitions for the curious, tyvm.

Have to agree 100% here although I would word it differently. Catch more flies with honey and all that.

I would definitely open an account at another bank that doesn't have these nazi policies and transfer all funds to the new account. What banks, lawyers and doctors have to realize is that they work for us...not the other way around.

I've dealt with the same thing. I've had to fully disclose where all our money comes from.

EthnicLover 10-09-2009 08:23 AM

Tell them the urls and you might get some new customers.

woj 10-09-2009 08:26 AM

Just say it's affiliate commission, if they request details, tell them you can't give away trade secrets...

96ukssob 10-09-2009 09:39 AM

It never hit the bank. Remember Beth took both bills lol

RenegadeCash Mark 10-09-2009 10:03 AM

Thats really an invasion of privacy..

Sly 10-09-2009 10:21 AM

I would move to another bank. But I disagree with most of the comments in this thread. It's their bank, regardless of what country you're in... with the current state of the world, there is going to be a lot of additional banking regulations to find out what is happening and why. From the financial meltdown, war on terrorism, the war against Iran and North Korea... it's just inevitable. They are trying to protect themselves, they care about their business much more than any of our accounts.

Granted. Total pain in the ass. Not sure what a good solution would be.

pentae 10-09-2009 10:23 AM

What bank is this and in which country?

alias 10-09-2009 10:27 AM

A giant GFY to them, change banks.

MetaMan 10-09-2009 10:34 AM

the original poster is in the Netherlands.

3xTom 10-09-2009 10:44 AM

our bank closed us down 2 years ago if anyone still remembers that one..gave us 2 weeks to completely switch out all checking , old checks, blah blah blah then without a hitch killed the accounts and started bouncing checks that we had to pay fees on...

I would say move now while you have a chance to do it easily...
And yes it all started with " So what kind of business is this "

Tom

plsureking 10-09-2009 10:46 AM

yea "know your customer" is worldwide, which surprised me. US Homeland Security has issued these know your customer forms to every bank in the world.

the form is only to find YOUR information. it does not in any way extend to your customers, employers, or benefactors.

i dont know about the Netherlands, but in the US its illegal to inquire about YOUR customers, unless you are trying to get a line of credit. thats a right to privacy thing.

if you want to stay with that bank, i'd recommend googling the know your customer act and reaming them a bit.

Andy CHOOPA 10-09-2009 10:46 AM

Time for a new bank :)

Agent 488 10-09-2009 10:48 AM

there will be more and more of a push for this. i knew a lady who worked at western union and was supposed to ask people who were wiring cash over a thousand what it was for, even though she didn't do it because she thought it was none of her business.
