Condo for Sale in Costa Rica (photos)

If anyone here has thought about living in Costa Rica, or even just owning property as an investment, then my condo may be of interest to you. You'll find photos and descriptions here: http://www.keithbussey.com/condo/

I may be willing to offer financing as well.

If you know anyone interested, I'd be willing to work out a commission for you.

I am also willing to throw in my company the house is under, Stormshadow S.A. , making transition nice and easy and allowing foreigners to have services such as bank accounts, phone, tv, etc... while not being a resident.

It's been my plan to sell it for awhile now, just haven't gotten around to going to take photos of it, etc... (finally did).

The main reason is we moved to Santa Ana area instead for Jen's work (the 1 hour drive each way was horrible) and also for me to be closer to my partner's offices.

I have considered renting it, but that sounds like may be a hassle, so figure I'd rather sell it and use the money to buy some land out here and build on.

LiveDose 10-09-2009 12:51 PM

I know a few people who are looking for property in Costa Rica and the surrounding areas. Not sure if they want to build themselves but I will forward the link.

Good luck.

Cool, thanks.

Thanks to everyone else wishing me good luck above also :)

Not bad looking place. Bump.

Ayla_SquareTurtle 10-09-2009 01:12 PM

I wouldn't want to take up your time not being a serious buyer, but I am curious how much a place like that would go for if you'd be willing to share. I was looking at some properties in CR and some of the deals seem to good to be true...

(edit) I saw the price on the page, duh!

PumaMan 10-09-2009 01:15 PM

Great looking condo :)

BradM 10-09-2009 01:18 PM

That's totally awesome. What a great price, too. Ah to be a single man again.

Does the company come along with the perk of being able to own/carry a weapon?

Unfortunately, Costa Rica has a problem with thieves.

Yeah I hate that (and the bars on windows/doors most everyone has in CR), but that street is actually one of the cleaner /safer ones in the country. You should see San Jose heh.

The condo though is kind of a "community within a community"; you can see in that pic the main entrance with guard station, then all the way at the bottom in a dead end is the gated entrance to the condo project (6 condos total)

I am going for $200K neg. May consider owner financing to the right person.

As comparables, condos in the same area about the same age but smaller and without nice finishings (ie. no granite/marble in kitchen/bathrooms, no jacuzzi, shitty floors) are going for the $180K range.

Originally, I bought it for $120K cash in late 2005 and one month later it was appraised by the bank at $150K. Value in the area has only risen since then, with lots of development going on.

Rob knows that condo quite well heh, many a game of Pirate Dice or Wednesday Nights started there, but I don't think he's into buying CR property, they seem to like US property they can scoop up while it's cheap :winkwink:

Yes, with a company you are allowed to import or purchase firearms. I believe it comes with the statement you can only use that weapon at your company's place of business, home or car; you can't carry it around on the streets unless you are a resident or citizen.

However, you can always just buy unregistered for that purpose :upsidedow

I wasn't 100% sure, I just remember him talking about it, and because he's from CR.

Good luck on the sale. :thumbsup

The company should be included as part of the purchase. When you buy a company that owns a property, you don't pay any taxes because the property is not actually being transferred.

Really when owning property in CR each individual property should be under its own company :)

LOL that's nothing compared to some neighborhoods. If your shit isn't protected, someone will probably steal it.

My complex has electric fences though, much neater and more effective :)

I was very impressed with fuzebox's place in Costa Rica. Very laid back, in a very quiet neighborhood, very safe.....attentive gate security, no undersirables walking around etc. I felt very relaxed every morning waking up, taking a shower & seeing the beautiful view out over the country/mountains, it was amazing. If Varius's place is anything like that....someone would be very happy to get it :thumbsup

Fuzebox & Maja found one pimp ass property, i hear their good at that kind of thing :winkwink:

shimmy 10-11-2009 04:51 AM

Not hard at all except for HSBC who are pretty much assholes. Getting one using a company with Banco Nacional, Banco Costa Rica, CitiBank, Scotia Bank, etc... is extremely easy.

up to 4 megs is available; it does encounter bad packet loss on some days though.

It's negotiable, but if you look around for similar condos in the same area you won't find many available and the ones you find, will be inferior (older, no marble/granite, no jacuzzi, smaller) for the same price range.

If you ever do decide to move down here I think you'd like this place; very close to a ton of universities, restaurants, bars, mall and while looking nothing like it (thankfully), it's even a short 10 minutes to downtown area.
