who ever used snapnames?

when you acquire a name through snapnames.com does the creation date reset?

seems dumb to pay $59 to acquire a name and the creation date resets to the day you acquire it there.

the creation date resets on all domains in pending delete status...

those domains weren't deleted. godaddy is selling them before they hit redemption.

that depends on the registrar, not snapnames.

i grabbed domains on snapnames both where date did reset and did not reset.

The Usual Suspect 10-09-2009 01:29 PM

It didn't before, but that depended all on the registrar.
Networksolutions.com, Register.com, Bulkregister.com was some of them, but a long time since I checked that now.

If the name actually drops and they catch it it resets. If its a pre-drop name it retains the original creation date.

Highly sought expired domains often don't get to the "pending delete" stage, but rather are sold via drop services that partners with various registrars well before then - the whois info is, in effect, simply changed from the old registrant to the new one.

I dont know about snapnames but the godaddy backorder thingy does reset it. but it only cost 20. theres a 90day wait after its deleted where only the previous owner can buy it back. wtf?

the who is at http://www.networksolutions.com/whois/index.jsp shows it reset but when i check it using http://www.urlappraisal.net/ it says it aint. then using http://www.smartpagerank.com/ it says it is.
