I'm watching an episode of CSI from 2 weeks ago on Tivo and this house has the circuit breaker on the outside of the house. Is that really how its done out there? Thats fucking crazy. I don't even believe it - I think the show fucked up. I mean, I guess you guys are fond of stucco and and weird short block fences so its possible but man it doesnt seem right.

Now that u bring it up, our's is on the outside of the house. Weird hun? I have no idea why! I never really thought about it....until the oven went out and a repair man had to go outside to turn off the breaker.

Yep, here in AZ, the breaker box has always been on the outside of the house, even when I was a small kid.

Its how it is in california as well.

We don't have to worry about snow covering it up, so outside is best.

In San Diego, ours was outside of the house inside the garage. I would call that "outside" I guess. Totally different from here in the Midwest now that you mention it, never thought about that before.

The meters are outside, the circuit boxes are not.

I think its outside so the council can access it more easily. But mine is inside the house.
