Just discovered Wordpress 3 hours ago, I am such a N00b...

http://adultcontentnl.wordpress.com/

Just getting the hang of it and trying to figure out how everything works.
So far it looks rather intuative and easy to use once you find your way around.

Any advise from experiences users I could use on WP for my site?

Do it, do it now. It's so lightweight you could put it on shared hosting.
Hey look at that. In my sig, there's shared hosting super cheap with free domains and private reg and shit!

Of course you can do that just to remind you that free blog hostings like wordpress.com or blogger don't allow adult. There are adult free blog hosts like thumblogger.

But having your own wordpress install blogs is the real deal :thumbsup plus it's not really hard to get know wordpress

Hehe, just using it hobby wise to see what it is all about because everybody keeps posting about wordpress. Actually I wanted to find out about make a site for my friends with pics and keep it restricted for them with user/passes, but somehow I ended up working again at midnight.

They let me in on panels but not because of my blogging skills or being an expert on using templates/scripts :winkwink:

When is a blog considered "Adult"?
I just wanted to use it as corporate info and copy press releases without pics.

When it has nudity, their hosted blog will do fine to get your feet wet. Nothing wrong with hosted blogs anyway, but the option to host your own is nice to know about for later. :thumbsup

They do allow it...but they frown upon it.

You will be removed from the public directory and your blog will be invisible to search engines and the community.

You will still be able to get type in traffic or point your domain to it.

If it's installed on one of my severs, I could use adult pics then?
So as long WP doesn't host it, it's ok to use hardcore pics?

The hardest pic seen on http://adultcontentnl.wordpress.com would be 2 nipples.
Could that be a reason to be deleted ?
Would just text (with mild pics) be tolerated you think?

rokoroko 10-11-2009 03:21 PM

use hostgator for cheap share hosting for the start , they allow you adult blogs, super support through live chat with technicians - they are online anytime. for 9 bucks / month nothing better with c panel in it, worpress install through fantastico - very easy.

you can check my www.camhd.TV on it too :-)

I've guess you have heard that many people on here have adult blogs. Yes you can have adult related blog as long your host allows you to host adult content :)

It is easy to install yourself, grab or use an existing domain or even a new subdomain like blog.domain.com. Create a MYSQL a database and user with full rights to that DB on your server. Follow the instructions exactly, it will work.

Then you don't have to guess and have control of the domain/traffic.

Best of luck.

Than definately dedicated , if you wana the automatic installation of wordpress on it , may be for more blogs in the future , then with fantastico again with combo with c panel would be my option.

you should look after a good nice theme for your wordpress to install under themes folder. There are tons of them , but just few of them fit the best for you, plenty of them free ,others for fee.

My was 99 usd.

WordPress is all around platform for any kind of sites not only blogs. WordPress is a perfect CMS. People are building portals, personal sites and even paysites on it. There are also some themes that turns WordPress into TGP or Tube.
