Hot yoga... I had no idea
I run, lift weights, and I'm going back into martial arts next weekend.
I started doing hot yoga with a hot older chick about 2 weeks ago. I've already lost at least an inch on my waistline. I can't believe how effective this is at cutting flab and boosting your metabolism. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to lose weight, tone up, and gain some mental strength as well. |

It's called Bikram yoga, and there is nothing better for staving off the effects of old age. It will keep you loose and flexible, and it will also seriously boost your energy level. I could go on a long rant about how awesome it is, but you really have to try it to understand.
I took my first yoga class at Broward Community College before I transferred to UM, and my instructor was pushing 50 but looked like he was in his early 20's... |

Never tried hot yoga but I do beginners yoga every thursday to stretch myself out after the long week of running and weightlifting....I also do pilates and step aerobics.

I've been doing this power yoga class a few times a week (at normal temperature), and it's done wonders for my energy and flexibility... My joints no longer crack and I don't have any back pain after long hours at the computer, meaning I'm sleeping better.

At American Top Team, I do Ginastica Natural, www.ginasticanatural.com.br twice a week. It's not hot yoga, but it gets you lose and you sweat a bucket. I am looking forward to doing the hot yoga one day though.

I did Hot Yoga for a full year 8 years ago and was in the best shape of my life... It's really good and relaxing and works your body well.

Basically there is not a difference in the correct alignment of specific asanas (postures) between the various "types" of yoga. Bikram is just a guy from India who got a copyright. If you ever want to explore other kinds of classes besides Bikram, definitely do. Bikram is the same postures in the same order every class. Check out places like Corepower or studios that offer Ashtanga, aka Vinyasa Flow. The teachers present the flow in different ways and are more creative.
But yeah, the heated yoga classes are simply amazing. I love it so much. It gives me a sense of renewal that I never knew was possible. I feel like a new man every time I go. IMO yoga is simply the greatest thing you can ever do for yourself. The physical benefits are endless, and a healthy body is a healthy mind. The sense of mental clarity I feel from practicing yoga just makes me utterly thankful to be alive. |

I do yoga twice a week but it's just regular, not hot yoga. I'd love to try, but there are no classes at the local centre and I'm not commuting for yoga class. blah.

It's a great, great way to get in shape AND motivate yourself since you're shirtless and sweaty. Your muscles will pop out and you WILL notice chicks checking you out hardcore.
