Creepy fake photographers hitting me up
 

Lately I have been getting more and more of these.. I don't even know why I waste my time talking back to these people and I can tell what it is the 1st word out of the box, but I'm afraid there ARE girls that fall for this kinda stuff.. Hell, I might of fallen for it when I was 18? :(

Damn, I am glad I am not trying to establish myself now it would be tough. I remember trying to start out at the beginning of 02 as a photog its tough, but yeah that sounds like some fake creep.

I'm not a fake photographer, but I only shoot for my own collection.

BTW... do you have a camera I can use when we get together?

I don't have any idea what the usual convo would be like but it sounded like a hesitant newbie photographer to me. Not necessarily a scammer or something, but the logoff is weird lol.

rotflmao - I've helped a few of my girls get real jobs in the past and every time I get emails that are like that. The minute you ask for references they disappear.

I highly doubt this was just a shy photographer..he couldn't even tell me where he found my yahoo ID from LOL. And when I asked him his location his reply was "Nyc. travel." HUH??

"Azure Modeling" is another one that targets myspace girls and aggressively emails them pressuring them to give out their phone number and home address..they promise "big $ for very little work!" LOL!

I can really sympathize with that guy. I tell women I want to shoot them all the time, and they just run away screaming when they see the gun. It's hard to break into this industry.

There are tons of fakes out there good for you for asking him for references! More girls should ask more questions I have had girls fly across the country to shoot without asking me for references. Some of these girls are nuts for trusting us so easily. I always put links to my work and tell models that they can contact other models I currently work with when I contact them but they almost never check.

oh usually I do but sometimes I'm in a mood and have an extra 10mins to kill and start a stupid convo w them like this.. it's like arguing on GFY.. you def know better, but sometimes you just can't help it? :)

You are correct, same with girls bringing in their test but almost never ask to see the male talents test. And when you show them a test they see a real name and never ask for an ID to compare if it is the actual male talent.

oh, I ask for way more than references.. I go on GFY and ask all of my friends and people I trust like KB and Mark Schecter for the dirt on the people/companies I consider working with ;)
But ya know these days I already know everyone I want to work with in the future and those people I want to work with again.. I'm not getting excited over random strangers hitting me up offering me "big $" LOL.. I make the most $ when I stay at home on my webcam anyways!:)

Creepy ? The guy forgot who you were. My Question is the bipolar attitude of some of these people in the business. Not everyone is an expert on how to approach others in this field. Were you ever a newbie ? Maybe you need to lighten up and not be so paranoid.
