Is anyone using one of these as their computer chair? how long for?

Are they worth it?

Is it making your abs and back stronger?

Is getting one of these a stupid idea? :)

I do. Someone here suggested it but I can't remember who. My back feels so much better since I've been using it.

Wally World has em for 15.00.

I used to have one. I liked it quite a bit. It got punctured and I haven't got around to getting a new one, but I plan to.

Of course, I'm big on switching out chairs to reduce fatigue in front of the computer. I have 2 others right now that I alternate.

Good for your back, it doesn't get stiff. You don't lean. I also get less bored/agitated when I'm concentrating on something that is less than fun if I can bounce while I'm doing it.

I've had one around for 2 years. Once in awhile I pull up a chair instead, but the ball is better. Your ass will thank you.

If it turns out you don't want it, you can always give it to a friend's kid.

the action of holding yourself upright on the ball makes you sit up straight. at the same time you are isometrically exercising your legs, abdomen and lower back. the air and shape take pressure off your lower back. the thing is sweet!

I also read in a magazine that you get a decent ab workout .. just from your muscles keeping you balanced on the ball. Although, I wouldn't be able to resist bouncing around the office on it :)
