windows update and found Trojan on my laptop
 

hmm, I thought stuff like this was a thing of the past, so I was surprised when I installed the windows updates today on my xp laptop and it found and removed "Trojan:WinNT/Alureon.D" which supposedly can steal passwords etc....


no idea at all where I got the trojan... guess I need to change all my passwords now to be safe

trying to uninstall norton antivirus and install avast now, having a tough time getting norton uninstalled.... it is pissing me off now

norton is a piece of shit, good deal moving away from it.

yeah, having trouble though, it won't uninstall, and then it says I have to sign on as administrator, but when I try it is freezing..... fffffuuuuuu

great program, it took a bit and I had to do a bunch of manually selecting registry files to delete, but it worked extremely well!! Great program!

give nod32 a try for av protection

running avast now and it seems to be running great and my system is running smooth and fast now

i use nod32 for a couple of years now, i a haven't had any problem with viruses YET..

I also use avast now, had an virus no other antivirprogram found, just can recommend it :thumbsup.

trojans are good for data transfers lol :)

just goes to show you that you cant even trust updates from Microsoft
