The billionaire who used to post here

Some guy who worked with Jordache used to post here. Any chance of getting him to show up?

SleazyDream 10-21-2009 10:36 PM

i know a few close to or maybe at a bill who have posted here...

WatchingPorn 10-21-2009 10:38 PM

Some nice political sites right now are talkingpointsmemo.com and drudge report. Check them out.

xenigo 10-21-2009 10:42 PM

Are you talking about Jordache Jeans? They aren't large at all in the jeans marketplace, at least not anymore.

A lot of people work for them, BTW. They aren't really anything to write home about.

Iron Fist 10-21-2009 11:14 PM

Everyone was a billionaire before the recession and the housing bubble... :)

Wonder if he posted cool pics?

Mock NyaMout 10-21-2009 11:45 PM

Nice to meet you.

Becareful what you wish for.

After Shock Media 10-22-2009 12:17 AM

Wait you do not remember their nick, no remembering what they even posted or if it was useful. Just remember because you think they were a billionaire?

Yeah it is a lot of money. More than I will ever have unless I get super lucky. Not sure how working for a jeans company would get you there, even as CEO - well perhaps Levi's CEO or something. Just find it odd that someone is trying to remember someone because of the money they either have or had.

JimmiDean 10-22-2009 04:10 AM

Everyone here is a billionaire....
Whats on your mind?

bloggerz 10-22-2009 04:37 AM

Nicely said, you should focus on what they said (if they ever posted anything useful)

Any billionaire who posts here is a fucking idiot
If you're out there, slide me some assets, stupid!!
Seriously, if you're dumb enough to come here with 1B or more... you're dumb enough to send me free money. I am not even offering business opportunity .. just send me assets

Thanks!

ShellyCrash 10-22-2009 06:15 AM

The one thing I've noticed people tend to forget when they are around people with big bucks- they didn't get that way by giving their money away. :2 cents:

I don't ask anyone for shit
But if anyone is worth that and wastes their time here
They also didn't get that way on their own, anyway

Sharky 10-22-2009 05:08 PM

Are you talking about MarcDe? I don't think he's a billionaire, yet, though.

onwebcam 10-22-2009 05:13 PM

I know of 1 actual billionaire (not a billionaire on paper) who frequents a webmaster forum or two. He doesn't do a lot of posting though. As far as Rick Schwartz (men.com) he's no billionaire not even close. Although he tries to act like one.

I used to fill my backpack with candy and gum in school. I'd buy it wholesale and do a hefty markup.

Ran the football pools in high school and did really well with that.

I always was good at saving money as a kid.

My family had money from the clothing mfg. industry, but I wanted to strike out on my own, didn't want to be under anyone's thumb and control, and left from Philly to LA when I turned 20.

I had $2,000 in my pocket and that was all.

I've always been fortunate and lucky. Had just a few bad years where it seemed every deal I got into went south and I went really low and fucked up my credit and all that kind of stuff and had to rebuild everything all over again.

My biggest hits in my 20's and 30's were from the clothing industry and the 900 pay-per-call business. We had the Jordache line for California when that changed the jeans industry. I was in the right place at the right time. Caught the first waves on the 900 biz and created some monster sized programs that did millions of calls. I don't know the exact number but its somewhere in the 40 to 50 Million range of paid calls.

I blew a lot living really well, and could have had much more today had I been more prudent in the early days and also not diversified into businesses outside my expertise.

:):thumbsup

Forbes has the latest list of billionaires. If he's not on the list, his status as a billionaire is doubtful --not impossible -- but unlikely.

KRL was just another guy in the long line of people who are all talk and no action :2 cents:

As far as I'm concerned, he still owes my ex partner $50K.

For what, just general info would be an interesting change of pace around here from what has been posted.

Many years ago we did a deal with Men.com to launch our first private label dating site with them (dating.men.com)

KRL was the point of contact on that deal and it was to include television ad campaigns.

Basically, we were to send $50K for them to use for the ad campaigns to promote it and in exchange we would keep the first $75K they made in affiliate earnings from the dating site, after which they would simply be paid as a regular revshare commission.

Despite contracts, television and ad schedules, meetings, etc... nothing ever happened (I think the private label saw little to no traffic and only made about $4K) and KRL was dropped from Men.com and the new owners had no intentions to honor any deals he made previously. Kevin refused to return the money.

Manowar 10-25-2009 08:15 AM

havent seen a KRL post in years

So not JUTS KRl, but men.com. good stuff.
