Favorite Franchise Pizza
What is your favorite franchise pizza place and why?
ie, Pizza Hut, Dominos, etc. I would make a poll but there are too many choices to list. I like Pizza Hut the most b/c their pizza's taste the best. |
Franchise pizza doesn't compare to the small shops. Got to love those, so fucking good.
Not real crazy about any of the franchises, but I'll eat them all. |

pizza hut... unfortunately, the closest one's pizza's shrunk about an inch every year until they eventually went out of business.
Pretty sad that their "large" pizza, was actually smaller then every other local pizza shops "small". and in one case, it was the same size as a "personal" from another shop. On top of that, it was like $18 for a "large pepperoni lovers", which ended up being a 10 inch pizza that had the pepperoni content of your average "bagle bite". For that same $18, I now drive half the distance, and can get a pizza that is 36" long by 24" wide, and weighs about 10Lbs... and when you ask for 'pepperoni lovers', the entire top of the pizza is completely covered in pepperoni. plus, it's made by actual italians. |
papa johns baby!

Franchises SUCK. I did find a great local place, called "Mina's", in Ardsley NY, that make the best fucking pizza I ever tasted. Crispy crust, and they are NOT cheap with the toppings. I swear, each pizza weighs at least 5 pounds! The Chicken: http://unknownorigin.com/images/chicken.jpg The Shrimp: http://unknownorigin.com/images/shrimp.jpg Both pics was reduced 75% in size, otherwise you could just literally eat the pizza out of the pics. This place is so fucking good, I ordered once the usual (chicken and shrimp parm pizza), and when it came I thought they game me TWO chickens. I called up and was like, 'WTF? YOu send me two chickens!'. The guy was like 'nope, this time the shrimp isnt breaded... actually, its chopped jumbo shrimp'. Like I said, franchises SUCK. |

Papa Ginos is the shit. But for the best pizza anywhere you got to travel to the North end in Boston. MMMMMMMM
|
They all suck.
Pizza Hut is probably the worst of all the chains that I have tried. Most expensive and only about 1/8" thick. |
Of the chains, I like... Pizza Hut, Little Caesars, Papa Gino's, and maybe Dominos. All of those are fine by me, just depends on my mood. Unfortunately, the only chains they seem to have here are Pizza Hut and Dominos. Back home, I would almost always go for local pizza. Here, it really sucks. So does the Chinese food. Weird, but true.

Pizza Hut rocks
Mazzio's is second, but I havent seen any in florida |
dominos.
I order online, once a month. Pepperoni and onion. |
Hungry Howies (w\ Cajun crust!)
AWESOME. Jak |
There aren't any mom and pa's pizza shops that I know of in Hawai'i.
We just have chains. :( |
As far as franchises go, I would have to say Papa Johns. We have this local place called Pizza Shuttle. Whenever I call, they answer and say "Hey Tony, the usual?". 20 minutes later, my HUGE BBQ chicken pizza arrives! They fucking rule. Last year for my birthday, they actually delievered 10 pizzas to my house the night of my little shindig (no charge). Nothing beats pizza when you're shitfaced at a party. :thumbsup

In Seattle: Pagliacci Pizza...oh my gawd! :thumbsup
|
Best pizza in the Seattle area is over in Redmond at a place called Frankies. Unbelievable.

Mellow Mushroom :) I started going to their first store in Atlanta on Roswell Road in 1977. Now they're all over GA, and in 7 other southern states. YUMMY!!!!!!
|
As much as I love the Brits (and I do) they can not do pizza. We have pizza hut (and apparently dominos since they advertise but I have never actually seen one) but if I had to have a British chain it would be Pizza Express. That is pretty much a sit down Pizza Uno type place.
What I really miss is the mom and pop type pizza places....nothing compares. |

papa johns.

They've got a restaurant on the Gloucester city docks which I've been to many, many times - easily the best pizza I've ever had, and I've had quite a few. :thumbsup |
