Batch convert 400+ .mts files..?!?!?!? Video editing experts help me out!
 

Ok im getting pretty frustrated now..

- What program will let me batch convert 400+ .mts clips (those sony AVCHD HD 5.1 videofiles) into a format best suitable for editing with a program like sony vegas?

- What is the best format to convert them to so i dont lose any quality? Mpg1 or 2, or avi or HDV or bluray or ...

Please give me some info, im trying to get a tape from my holiday together and i want it to be the same quality as i have originally. But when i try to edit .mts files in sony vegas the "player" inside it lags like mad and i think its because of the .mts.

Its impossible to see each clip smoothly and therefor impossible to know where to cut what clip and which one to remove.

Help me out guys.

Most likely your problem is HD access time and probably lack of ram.

Get professional equipment and you are ready to go.
