I just FUCKED all my Youtube MONEY!!!!

:1orglaugh

Damn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I made a crappy video a long time ago that I could not have cared less about.
Of course that's the video that got a quarter million views. :1orglaugh

So I get an email from youtube and actually read it this time and it's an invite
into the partner program. Just click the link and fill out the form for review
and approval. That's all I had to do to get paid.

So, hell yeah; I want to do that and I want my video to get even more views.
But hey, my sound track sucks; it's just some looped sounds to avoid copyright
infringement. And the perfect song is available for audio swap!
I click the audio swap and see the video and it's perfect!

Then, oops!!!!!

"Once cilcking audio swap, your video will no longer be eligible for the partner program".

:(

You live and you "burn" er...I mean "learn".

Can I get some "OWN3D" pics please?

:1orglaugh

BTW: Anyone know if youtube will consider the video again after a while with the
same audio swap or should I just delete the video and upload it again and hope
it gets the same views as before?

what the shit are you talking about?! lay off the crack.... didn't it give you a confirmation on the audio swap with that warning before clicking accept? ....

I already admitted I was OWNED ok!

Just tell me how to fix this.

SmokeyTheBear 10-25-2009 10:22 AM

heres the best way i can think of.

Make sure video responses are set by approval for that video

Make the same video again but without audio swap, respond to the first video from the new video ( so it will be a thumbnail underneath the first video )

Then make an overlay on the first video that runs the entire length of the video , covering the entire video saying " this video is the old version checkout the new ultra cool version below "

i bet you should recover 50% of the views this way..

Iron Fist 10-25-2009 10:41 AM

So you clicked twice even after being warned? That's not being "owned" that's just being stupid.

Mutt 10-25-2009 10:46 AM

and what is a video with 250,000 views gonna bring in revenue from YouTube's partnership program? i can only imagine how bad the clickthrough rate is on Youtube.

got this off some site , dont know how reliable it is

Youtube partners will make $2.5 to $5 per 1000 video views

so he could be looking at a free $625.00 - $1250.00

I'll take a look at that. Sounds good. :thumbsup

That's a lot better plan than what I was thinking.

Can anyone answer this question :

"Anyone know if youtube will consider the video again after a while with the
same audio swap"?

For some reason my video responses will not go in.
I've been getting responses from other people and none of them went in either.
It's like the video responses was cut off after 150k views or something.

So I could not post a response; however I did do the overlay and put the
link to the new video.

BEST IDEA EVER SMOKEY!!

Works like a charm, views of the new video are climbing.
It was only 12 views for the first 12 hours, but after 2 hours of overlays it's almost
100 views now.

:thumbsup

Thanks

No way it is that much, my experience is it is 75 cents to $1 per 1,000 views.

@ Sortie - make more videos similar to your first and then do as Smokey said - use them as video responses to the first successful one.
