Replacing A Laptop Hard Drive Question

My wife's Dell laptop died a few weeks back. The Hard Drive is toast. So being sick of this, I got her a Mac.

Question is, if I replace the Hard Drive on her Dell Laptop can I just install Windows 7 on it without needing the Backup Disk (as I don't think I have one - it was on the computer I think) or do I need a bunch of other stuff to make the laptop work again (for my daughter to use).

Thanks for any help!

Most likely Yes, Windows does its best to find and install the appropriate drivers for your hardware.

If you run into any problems, or if Windows can not find the correct driver, you should be able to download anything you require from Dell's website.

that's actually getting a little more reasonable for a change, but it could still be lower

Nope, not retarded, but my special needs son is. He can't help from being "retarded" but I am pretty sure you can help from being an asshole, but if your mental capacity is such as to offer this reply on a simple question, then probably not.

Some people are born "retarded" and some people are born assholes and neither of them can help it. You probably got it from you father (if you knew him or was your mom a whore??) and he probably got it from your grandfather (again, if you knew him). This could explain a lot too, if you didn't know your dad because your mom was a whore, then you would probably have a lot of pent up rage that would come across as being an asshole so for these circumstances, I forgive you.

On the other hand, thanks to all the other that offered help!!

Is 'XP Mode' different than 'Compatibility Mode (XP SP3)'?

Hey, I grew up without a dad and I'm not an asshole, but I am a dick.

Find a college student, they can buy a copy of Windows 7 cheap. Seen it posted on other boards.
