Can anyone give me some advice (idiot guide please) on setting up my own affiliate blog?

I can write the things and post them etc, but sadly have little clue about how they are set up.

I know i buy a domain, get hosting (any ideas here?) but then what. There is a big leap from getting a host to writing on the blog. Do i install a WP thingy or something? What actually makes it exist?

Hey, i've contacted you via ICQ. I replied to the email you sent through my website and it got returned. Not sure what happened there.

I'll get back to you at the end of the day or perhaps tomorrow. I'm in
London most of the day today on business, but I would certainly be
interested in this brief, and yes it's achievable by the end of the week.
