About a year ago, I was sitting in a parking lot talking to someone on the phone when I saw a delivery truck stop at a red light, and a bunch of packages came tumbling out of the front door of his truck. I guess this doesn't surprise me too much.

wow..yeah says it all.

My brother worked at UPS. He told me that certain companies packages would get punted across the room, Especially TANDY (Radio shack brand) stuff.

Even better is when they deliver your stuff to the wrong address and don't ask for a signature.

lol, that one hasn't happened to me yet. I guess the only thing I can complain about is a few packages that were late.

Chronopost (Fedex) and UPS France have this really great trick: They know the majority of people aren't at home during the day, so they don't deliver, they put in the 'sorry we missed you' slip, and fuck off. Three times doing that, then your package gets routed to through regular mail. You get it 3 weeks later, they get the afternoon off.

After months of this bullshit, I actually staked out a driver, watched him walk up to my apartment w/ a pre-written slip. I bolted downstairs, hauled the guy up, and said: hey, what the fuck are you doing? Do you bother to actually deliver shit?
He said: You weren't at home (lol)
I said: You didn't even ring the doorbell..
He then throws open the side of his truck and yells at me: You see all of these packages? If I actually delivered them all, I'd get home late every night!

All courier services are fuckwits.

.. and he left the packages there, for anyone to steal

When I first started college (around '92) I worked at a UPS plant in Deerfield Beach, Fl, loading semi trucks. We would be in the trailer of the semi, and these conveyor belts shot packages out at us and down these rollers into the trailer, where we were supposed to stack them. Of course the conveyor belts constantly got jammed and we had to climb up these ladders and dislodge packages, which would then make packages shoot out at 100 MPH and you didn't stack them so much as dodge them. Packages would fly out and fall under the semi, and the packages that did make it in were tossed around pretty hard. It was fucking amazing that anything got delivered in one piece.

I also remember packages with "explosives" and "hazardous material" stickers on them and wondered why the hell UPS would ship that shit...

this is why i pay for everything with Amex. i ordered a halloween outfit last year and UPS says it was delivered, but there is no proof. I called amex and said i never got the package and a few weeks later i got the letter saying the dispute went in my favor.

i had a friend that used to help deliver for UPS during the holidays and he would tell me that if someone lived to far out of the way and it was getting close to the end of their shift, they wouldnt bother, even if they paid for next day air :1orglaugh
