nifty stats and windows 7 firewall
 

hi

has anyone got nifty stats working with the windows 7 firewall. i'm blocking all outbound connections, unless they have a rule. i've made a rule for stats.exe but it seems to be blocking it's outbound connection. anyone know if there's something else i have to allow?

A software firewall on the same host is almost as good as a condom made entirely of swiss cheese. Just disable it. Not the answer you wanted, but it's truthful, at least.

i disagree to an extent, i used to use zonealarm and in the rare occasion i did get a nasty trojan or something, it was sometimes that which indicated a problem first (an unuathorised outbound connection).
