Sucks that it gets dark at like 5pm now

I hate the idea of having to turn the clocks back. Why is it necessary that it gets darker earlier?

I would rather see it stay dark until 8am and have the sun go down around 8:30-9pm NOT dark at 5pm

comeplay 11-02-2009 03:55 PM

I was just thinking very similar thoughts. 5:30 it was pitch black

miss_jody 11-02-2009 03:57 PM

I know.... sucks!

J. Falcon 11-02-2009 04:01 PM

Same reason why in the summer it doesn't get dark till after 9.

BSleazy 11-02-2009 04:02 PM

ya it does suck.

Actually the time we are in now is technically the "correct" time. As far as I'm concerned I wish DST would become permanent

Sosa 11-02-2009 04:20 PM

Yeah seems like the evenings just drag on as it's so dark so early.

Tanker 11-02-2009 04:21 PM

I liked AZ it never changed

thundergasm 11-02-2009 04:28 PM

It does suck getting dark so early. I'm from Wisconsin and that just makes it all the colder. I'm working in Cancun at the moment and while it does suck it's dark, at least it's not cold. A whole different feeling to say the least.

Joxxy 11-02-2009 04:32 PM

I can't play more golf.

After Shock Media 11-02-2009 04:39 PM

Why does what the clock say really effect you though?
Well for certain instances it can, like if you want to hit certain businesses but even then the majority that I can think of that close at 5 would not matter if it was dark or not.

Perhaps for some that work in offices it sucks that they get no real sunlight. They wake up at 6 and its dark. The drive to work and its dark. They sit in an office or cubicle all day under nasty lights. They are to depressed to go outside to eat, plus its cold which is just yet another excuse so they stay in. Then they drive home and it is dark. Then its like you only get to have a "day off" literally on your "days off".

yeah and guess what, it is still bloody dark usually on weekends too
life sucks in winter in Northern parts of north America

CDSmith 11-02-2009 04:43 PM

I wish it would stay dark for 3 months straight starting now. Just for this year.
Then next year it goes back to how it is now.

That would shut everyone up for good about it getting dark at 5 pm.

CaptainHowdy 11-02-2009 04:47 PM

I want to move there...

farmers and other people who have to get up at 6am for work don't feel the same but it sucks regardless i think.

Jim_Gunn 11-02-2009 05:27 PM

It's a big deal for us content producers especially. I like to use natural daylight when I am shooting outside of course and even inside with windows and skylights. So I have to start my shoots earlier and plan on getting that "magic hour" light near sundown at about 4:00 now, especially all the way down south here in South Florida where the sun in effect goes down earlier than up north.

mynameisjim 11-02-2009 05:52 PM

I was just thinking about this.

Nobody likes turning the clocks back, so why do we do it. It's not some law of the universe. If we all just agreed to not do it, then it would just go away.

Not a single person enjoys it getting dark earlier. Why the hell do we still do it?

dirtymind 11-02-2009 05:53 PM

well we are still stuck in the past with turning the clock back an hour. i really hate that shit.

beerptrol 11-02-2009 05:56 PM

means more time to sit around a fire and drink some beers

bronco67 11-02-2009 05:57 PM

yeah, the same shit happens every year. I mean, WTF?
